Both new tracks are so good, really wasn't expecting such a big band to come back with an Album i'm seriously excited about - thought they'd probably be past it now (in terms of new material terms).

The few songs they've released since they got back together have been really good. Fools Day, Under The Westway, The Puritan, Go Out and this new song. Got a feeling this albums gonna be great. If they did play I don't think they would go too heavy on their new songs, maybe 4 or 5 out of 18 songs. I'd like to see them swap some of the songs they played in 2009 for some different old songs though. Seen them at Hyde Park in 2012 and loved the setlist. Would be great to see them do the likes of Sing, London Loves, Intermission, Colin Zeal and Caramel. Charmless Man and Stereotypes might go down well as well.

There's a give-a-shit looseness to these tracks. It's AWESOME.

I'm not that surprised they're good. The only thing wrong with Damon's solo was the production. That man hasn't lost any of his songwriting ability. As has been mentioned, all of the singles have been good too.

Because Blur didn't really stick to a specific sound, they can do new songs that sound like Blur without retreading old ground.

I'm more interested in this incarnation than the nostalgia tour in 2009. As it happens, I was in my tent from overindulgence in 2009, but I've never been able to get upset about missing it. Seeing them in 1998 when they were a real band rather than a 'heritage act' was wonderful. Now they're a real band again, I wouldn't mind seeing them once more.

That's spot on. I wasn't at glastonbury that year(Neil Young, my absolute number 1,slaying the pyramid, gutted) but saw blur as an interested bystander in 99 at Leeds(hated britpop but certain bands lifted themselves above the sewerage) and were floored by their brilliance. Seen Damon and Graham (great name) perform well but as a band live, not much has come close to that evening

That for me is the key to this, Blur's strength has always been their willingness to change to experiment, to grow. I can't think of another band who can both radically alter from album to album and yet still retain a central 'coreness' of who they are. I find it fascinating, listen to that route from 'Modern life is Rubbish' to '13' over the course of 4 albums and 6 years

Only if by "newer" you mean the Soft Bulletin / Yoshimi-era.

When they tour a new album they play very heavily from it. The terror tour was not mainly soft bulletin and yoshimi. Same goes for the embryonic tour.

Yep Albarn has had some career when you look at it, especially considering all his side stuff.

The fact that blur used to be supposedly in 'competition' with oasis is laughable looking back (even though country house is pretty dreadful)
