Glastonbury made me cry

Sorry, Story time, I had to tell people that would understand

So I have been lucky enough the past two years to get tickets and experience the magic that is Glastonbury with my OH and some friends. Both years we stayed in Tangerine fields as I cant live without a shower (please don't judge) We have again been lucky enough to get tickets this year, woohoo, and was planning on staying in an onsite TIPI. Then the most wonderful news came... I am pregnant, with my 1st and we are ecstatic. The conversation of Glastonbury came up, I'll be 29 weeks by then and after much toing and froing I decided not to go and put the ticket back in the pot. I was ok with this as made my peace with it. Then last night the 1st headliner was announced, I burst into tears and couldn't stop for around 20 minutes (pretty emotional right now anyway). Not because its the Foos, but because I would be missing Glastonbury.

Anyway, thank you for reading my self pity story.

xx

Wonderful news and congratulations from willutalk !

Although I'm very pro going to Glasto even if people have little issues with attending, I think you've done the right thing . As much as I despise the commercialism brought to Glastonbury by the BBC it enables people in your position to enjoy it in the comfort of your own home.

I also feel that if lets say you didn't have a nice Glastonbury experience this year then the future years you go you may have unpleasant memories.

Once again congratulations from willutalk !

Im currently 32 weeks pregnant and if Glastonbury was this weekend there is no way in hell i wouldnt be there! Yes it would be tough, ie take longer to walk round and would have to sit further back from stages etc. But if your sensible, ie not moving around at really crowded times and take it easy you will be fine. My little one will be around 10 weeks old at the time and the hubby says he/she has to stay home with Grandma.

We have a campervan which wont be ready for this year, so will be camping again and would find it stressful and worrying with a new born being in a hot tent. Grandma has suggested for them to be close to the site for a night or two, so I can come out and see him/her. But Ive had the idea of taking the little one in for just the day. I want to be able to tell them when they are older about being at Glastonbury so young.

Dont give up your ticket. The little one will be perfectly fine in your belly and will probably bounce around to the music!

Hope this helps xx

Elder daughter was at her first festival at 4 days old. Younger daughter was born end of Sept and her mum went to about 7 festivals including Glastonbury from late May until early September while pregnant. She didn't walk miles and cane it but just did what she fancied and enjoyed it all.......and strangely kept bumping into other pregnant festival goers, some of whom she is still friends with, and daughter is friends with their children :) That was in '95. Go for it if you still can and only do what you want to.

Congratulations btw, huge result x

This is a tricky one. One side of me says I ought to encourage you to go to the festival and, as Sawdusty Surfer says, take it at your own pace. The other side of me thinks what if it's a real muddy one. Can you afford in your own mind to not go at the last minute and let the tickets go to waste if it's going to be a ra*ny one?
