Look. I have a load of noobs coming this year. I need decent weather so they enjoy it to the max and want to return. Otherwise I may not have anyone to come back with in future years. So...

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT WEATHER GODS. DO NOT FUCK THIS UP.

Thank you.

Been reading this thread for years but never posted. Will finally pipe up and say something. One thing I can guarantee is rain went to my first Glastonbury in 08 and the only one I have missed since is 2010 (the scorcher year) i went to reading instead and guess what happened there, it pissed it down. I was hoping this may finally be the year when I get to experience a dry festival but it seems that my run of wet festival will extend to 7.

Another thing to add though is that I was in Poland at the weekend and heavy thunderstorms were predicted for two of the three days I was there on the day I left. There wasn't a cloud in the sky all weekend let alone a thunderstorm and it was also much hotter than predicted. I actually thought this would be too much at glasto but I take that back looking at current forecasts.

    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
    • A couple of OR's crew and band have posted Barcelona pics.   HYYPPPEEEEE
