Well they didn't play this year with new material so I don't see how this would be any different. Also the new single is far better than Thank God For Girls, sounds like a Pinkerton B Side which I like. Would love them to play though

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm 23 so bands like GC, Sum 41 etc are the bands I grew up with, so its always nice to stick one of their albums on every now and again. Its the same for Limp Bizkit at R&L this year. They aren't a band that I've listened to much for years and years, but I still knew all the words to everything they played and it was the most fun I had all weekend.

Aye that's fantastic news, still desperately searching for tickets for them but I doubt i'll find some at a decent price so them headlining would be brilliant. Their recent setlists are great too, but hoping Cassius / Blue Blood / Albatross are added if they do headline.

Might be going a bit Gazza/Matt42 here, but...

In the Rock Werchter thread they were all saying how, if RHCP are headlining there, it's strange that it wasn't announced with all their other European festivals which are happening at a similar time. Made me think that maybe they're doing Pukkelpop instead and will be back in Europe in August. If so I'd definitely think they'd be at R&L.

It's a decent theory but I think it's all the more likely that they're only in Europe for the first half of the summer and are holding back some dates, RW included.

Talking of Gazza, I'm a bit disappointed that the Foals saga in which we spent hours of furious typing has pretty much concluded with Gazza accepting it but saying the festival is wrong and they're still too weak, a bit like someone losing on FIFA and blaming the game. I was looking forward to many more months of this.

Gazza didn't actually say they wouldn't headline, just that they shouldn't, so even though he spent ages arguing why they're too small to headline if they do end up headlining it in absolutely no way proves him wrong.

I know there's nuff warning against doing so but I do actually believe Black_Crow that Soni will go ahead with Metallica and Chilis - I don't know if he explicitly said the latter but he spoke about them having more July shows in another thread which obviously meant Sonisphere.

What other predictions? I've barely touched R&L this year as I'm just not sure.

I don't like the idea of it as I don't like to see the festival that started it all for me lower themselves to this.
