For the small number of us that like them, The 1975 have just put up a 14 day countdown on their website, I assume single/album announcement, or maybe even the whole album.

I'm interested to see how well the hype from the last album is retained, this album could be huge.

If it's a Friday I can't see them just announcing something. It'll be a release and quite possibly the album because the tour for the next album is coming up soon init.

They should just close their social media accounts and go off the radar again in 14 days - people went nuts last time. They don't need to come back this time around though.

Yeah by single/album announcement I meant a physical single & album announcement. I'm hoping they drop the full album. Not sure what to expect though.

That social media deletion worked wonders, the day before there was a lad going on about how he thought they were rubbish, when it happened he said something along the lines of "I don't like them but this is pretty interesting", and now he loves them. Madness.

If it does turn out to be arcade fire and muse I'll very happily go back

While I'm not believing what the guys says, Muse is a plausible option. Tour dates are slightly later than Biffy's were when they headlined but they are much bigger and only doing 3 cities without including Ireland, albeit mutiple dates.

With AF, they could probably get away with AF if the album was very early in 2017 and a couple of singles released before, I'm sure they have done it before and 30% now, they have 15 months to complete it and MB is a big fan too.

You can imagine there being a process going on with FF but most of us could make that one up. The thing is though, Reading would need strong headers if one of theirs is already playing/played a sold out fest. Part of me expects there to be a TBC header on the Glasto poster again. And last time FF played Reading, it didn't just sell.

Disclosure's new album is fantastic, would love to see a Disclosure & Guests headline slot in the future. Doubt it would ever happen, but the amount of decent collaborators they've worked with (Kwabs, The Weeknd, Lorde, Sam Smith x2, Lion Babe, Gregory Porter, Aluna George, Jessie Ware, Eliza Doolittle) I can dream.

I wish I had gone to see Disclosure instead of Blink in 2014. Don't get me wrong, Blink are my favourite band ever and their setlist that night was amazing, but I felt disappointed with the performance.

I think that Disclosure will be the next dance act to headline Glastonbury.

So what is he actually saying? arcade fire are headlining? Surely with them just releasing a deluxe album or whatever it was they are pretty much off the cards? Unless the album is coming out late next year, which may make reading a bit more likely as its one of the last festivals of the summer

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.

    • I don't think I'm alone as a Scotland fan that there is no way that I could possibly fall asleep knowing we're about to play our first World Cup game in 28 years! Pure adrenaline is keeping me wide awake (and plenty of rum)!
    • Trying to stay awake for the footy so it’s just the easy option of a battery😊😉
