I think royal blood will sub the pyramid stage at Glastonbury next year and then come back to be the new Reading headliners for 2017

Sub Glasto (and maybe others like T/IOW) next year with a new album, then headline R&L on the following album. Although they've been touring non-stop, haven't they? So might not get an album out by next Summer.

I read an interview with them the other day which said they're going back into the studio for a couple of weeks in September as they've got some time off after R&L but they're back over to America for a bit after that. They said they had some demos done so not sure how long it will take them. Next summer doesn't seem too unreasonable but it might be a bit tight for Glastonbury.

I heard they were going to start writing songs for their 2nd album whilst on tour with foo fighters which (I think) has already happened. If so, I'd imagine the album being out enough time before glastonbury. Not sure when they'll be back at Reading after this year, but the sooner the better

Did anybody catch the news item on radio 1 newsbeat on foals. Jannis was asked about headlining festivals and he said "I feel like we can do it and it would be good obviously for us from a selfish perspective but I would love to headline something like reading and Leeds or maybe even in the future something like Glastonbury"

 

make the quote of what you will be looks like they would like to heading reading before Glastonbury so next year's headliners?

Yannis grew up going to Reading and said that his dream would be to headline there so I reckon - if it was up to him - they'd even headline Reading over Glastonbury if they had to choose between, not that I think that's what's happening. Interesting how every interview seems to tackle the question of them headlining festivals as a way to kinda push their name into people's thoughts as headliners if they weren't there before.

I agree with dentalplan in that they'd choose Reading over Glastonbury but I don't think we can really read much into his answer given the way the question was phrased. The interviewer mentioned Reading so it makes sense for Yannis to then answer about Reading.

Hope the Foals album really takes off they are taking headline spots abroad at major festivals. I think as an interviewer one of the most interesting questions to ask Foals would be headlining UK festivals, don't know if it's anything to do with making us believe their of headline status to be honest but i can see what you mean.
