Why are people suggesting Frank Turner as a mainstage sub? That would be a big move from his place this year surely? Don't get me wrong I'd love to see it.

He doesn't have a place with his band this year.

Has he even sold out any venues on his tour yet? I know some were added due to extra demand but Manchester got added an extra date and the original one isn't even sold out yet

Exactly, it's just him and an acoustic guitar, kind of like his old nambuca shows were. He's only playing there because he wants to play the fest again...and again and again etc

Mumford are way bigger than The Black Keys, have headliner Glasto/T and released new material since then.

Alt-J are headlining Latitude this year and played third from top at Glasto (they were probably down as subs until The Who and Weller came as a package), whilst Frank Turner played half way down the Other Stage.

The Black Keys/Frank Turner is nowhere near as big as Mumford/alt-J.

To be fair to Frank that placing was clearly determined by him headlining another show elsewhere that evening and wanting to do a Leftfield slot with Billy Bragg in the afternoon. Bit of a mute point though...

Have to wait and see what happens with the new album but I reckon he could just about sub next year. Probably not under The Black Keys, however.
