I wanted something new/fresh /evolved from them too and so a little disappointed that did not happen with this single but Im not one bit surprised at what we got.

Anyway the last time Liam really tried to experiment in my eyes we got Always Outnumbered......................yikes!

Maybe he is best to play it safe sometimes

Did anyone actually expect the single to be any different from what it was?

I doubt the prodigy care about predictability

Well, that would be a shame, as I think they have cared in the past . Liam is a creative force, finding new sounds and straddling different genres. Anyway, I'm waiting to hear the rest. They are one of those bands where it all makes sense when you hear it live!

He always leads with a "safe" single for radio though doesn't he? Followed by a similar 2nd single.

One Love, No Good

Firestarter, Breathe

Girls, Hotride,

Invaders Must Die, Omen

And theres usually more interesting stuff on the albums.

I might be wrong but didn't they lead with Warriors Dance for Invaders Must Die? A certified banger.

For me there new single is typical/classic Prodigy but like a lot have said its nothing fresh. I would have liked something a little different but perhaps with the same grit their songs always carry. No doubt the new single will murder the dance floor.

Warriors Dance was the third single.

Yeah I think Howlett really writes songs, single in particular, that'll work live. This one will I'm sure.

I don't know if it says anything about stages and placement on the line up, but I'm really surprised their gigs have still not sold out, hours later. I was getting tix for my friend, and standing tix for Brighton are still available. I was all poised at 8.55am for a crazy scramble!!

I was thinking about whether I would would actually be bothered to watch them. Then I remember all the good times I have had to this tune and it is like how on earth could I not watch them?

I got three tickets for ally pally on the saturday at lunchtime which is not usually the case for anyone anywhere near headliner sized (florence sold it out several nights instantly i recall and then played the O2 later that year). It is January though as Nal said...

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
