Still not seen them yet. I can take or leave their music but I'm pretty excited to see if they live up to their reputation as a great live act.

They're really very good. Not sure I'd describe them as a great live act, but definitely worth seeing if you don't hate them on record.

Are teenagers bothered about Metallica?

Once you tell them there is a Metallica app and they their stage show is shiney the kids will love them almost as much a when you dangle your keys in front of them.

Metallica are a name so any teenager who likes rock/alternative music would want to see them even if it is just the odd song they know.

As days go by the more and more I'm delighted by this. I was excited to watch their Glastonbury set last year and thought they were excellent. I couldn't wait for their Download set, but an abundance of alcohol and poor decisions meant I missed them almost entirely. This certainly makes up for it.

I hope they don't have a new album out before it, and I share the same opinion that they're here too much. But I don't really care. I'm excited for them.

If Refused are on another night then that's me got 2 headliners already. Looking to see the rest of the lineup before I make up my mind on buying a ticket.

I'd imagine the new album will be primed and ready to be released by then much the same as last time they played just before Death Magnetic. Will be the start of their festival cycle to promote it.Download will be the year after then a stadium show the year after to finish the tour.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
