I'm definitely going to be at Fish56octagon, seems a fair few on her might be at Joy Orbison Thursday, as a Thursday option? I'm there anyway 😄

If by 'a fair few' you mean efsts folks and circa 30,000 people, yes.

I know i’m at risk of jinxing it… But my best mate is playing Arcadia (not saying who) and he reckons i’ll be able to rave one out INSIDE the dragonfly during his set.

Absolute dream come true 🥳

We'll wave from below.

RAVE HARD, RAVE SAFELY, TEAM

So, here we go. Thought I'd send my customary post wishing the best Glastonbury to all patrons of the Thread of Threads™️.

I truly hope you have a fantastic time. Remember, as @Fishman says, it's a marathon, not a sprint. I know there's a tendency to go too hard but, truly, pacing yourself (in all ways...) is the route to Farm Rave Joy.

I would love to meet as many of you as possible, so please, please come and say hi if you see me. I'm not hard to spot. Position A, dark trucker cap, shorts, t-shirt and hooped socks up to the knees 😆.

For me, raving is all about the shared experience, so let's see if we can get a record number of occasions when we meet folks from here that, up to now, we've only known by usernames.

Cannot wait. It's been a long time coming.

Have the best time, and rave safely, kids.

Mate a massive THANK YOU - to you and all the other regular contributors to the thread for creating a "safe space" for us part time ravers to ask our stupid questions. Cannot wait to bin off work at 11am tomorrow and make my way down to the farm and will hopefully try and find you at Fish56 Trance set.

PEACE OUT!!

Love to all and take it steady and look out for each other. It's a long old stretch and aim for the finish line of The Temple on the Sunday night (yes, you will get in).

Thanks for all the recommendations helping keep an old man a little more up-to-date.

Do keep an eye out for Ben and go and say hello. He is pretty easy to find (really!) and, if you find him, you'll find others.

See you in the fields and do post a review or the odd blurry photo here after.

x

Oh yeah, remember, it's a marathon not a sprint.

I specifically remember not long after I first joined, some keyboard hero was getting agro with someone in here.

They were politely but firmly told by the E&D community that “we don’t do that in here, go somewhere else if you want an argument”. It was beautiful.

Echo what others have said, you guys that share on here are legends. I’m currently all set up in East Quiet and very much looking forward to the week ahead. The party has kind of already started here but I will take the Captains advice and try and stay semi sensible today at least.

Any news on the Sunflower soundsystem? Ive not noticed it around Silver Hayes.

Floating Points was on 6music with Nick Grimshaw this morning, apparently part of the (licensing?) agreement was they can't announce who is playing. He confirmed he was first up and the weekend was full of his mates playing there.

    • Iran firing missiles at Israel blaming Israel's continued breaking of ceasefire agreements with its bombing of Lebanon. Deal with that one Trump you d*ck.
    • Best of all is to get the tram, then call a taxi for very short not-rip-off ride once in the centre.
    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the ‘official’ freenow taxi line ( 5 min walk from the main gate). It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
