Could we please get some of the berghain lot at Glastonbury this year

Got given a ticket to Osgut Ton at the Hydra last night - I know a promoter so I go there a lot

Ben Klock, Marcel Dettman, Nick Hoppner, Answer Code Request etc - incredible techno, great for 4am/5am in the late night areas! Gotta be at Glastonbury, incredible stuff.

Klock Dettman b2b is always one of the best parties around, they stormed WOW in 2014, I see no reason they wouldn't come back

Klock / Dettmann are great.

Klock's essential mix from a few weeks ago was a good one. If you haven't, you should check it out.

Few mates of mine are going down to WHP for NYD, it's not my favourite venue in the world and I'm going down for jungle next weekend, so choosing to stay in Glasgow, it's a great line up though, well worth the £45 for a ticket anyway

I would have gone if it wasn't at Store street.

In 2013 when I missed out on a Glastonbury ticket, I did awakenings festival in Amsterdam. It was a good festival (was only a day festival then).

If you have never been, go to Awakenings Gashouder in Amsterdam. It is the best clubbing venue I have ever been to.

I've been to AMS a couple of times and heard of that place, but never been, watched a couple of videos on YouTube last night and it looks pretty radical

Floating Points is djing in the Hillhead Bookclub in Glasgow on NYD, pretty big bar with good sounds there's always good music on in it, starts quite early though and licence till 2, reckon that until midnight and then to subclub for Kerri Chandler all night long is the perfect way to bring in the new year

Essential mix of the year shortlist just revealed

Ben Klock, DJ EZ, Maceo Plex, Nero and Tale of Us

I haven't heard DJ EZ or Nero, but there can really only be one winner for me, Ben Klock 10/10/15, absolutely tremendous stuff, everyone must check it out who hasn't already

Has anyone been to digital in Newcastle? Shindig on NYD is a game changers, Ben Klock, Jooris Voorn, Pan Pot, George FitzGerald to name a few

I've been twice, they sell glass bottles behind the bar which becomes a problem throughout the night as you end up standing on an unbroken one in the crowd and nearly breaking your ankle or the floor just turns into broken shards of glass. I quite like the club though, albeit the two times I went were to see Martin Garrix and W&W...

EZ is complete shite, either Maceo Plex or Tale of Us should win

I'd heard amazing things about him and I've seen videos of him doing all this sick mixing. So I went to see him and he was awful, probably because I'm not a fan of garage

You can't have listened to Klocks then

I have.. And maybe it's just me being biased since I'm a big fan of both maceo plex and TOU

also, I admit I was not always a dance head :P things change and people change tastes all the time.

had a friend who was really into house / techno, showed me a few acts and took me to a few events and I guess I just warmed to it :)

also this years Glastonbury I spent a lot longer in the dance tents etc

Did you do the Holy Trinity techno fest that was Friday night at Arcadia, Matt?

One of my favourite ever festival dance sessions. Just phenomenal, right under the belly of the spider and my first experience of Arcadia. I so hope that there's a line up that ticks my boxes for 2016.

I was wondering, have they ever had anyone play a live set at Arcadia at Glastonbury? I'm guessing it might be too much of a faff, as they'd have to set up different equipment, rather than the seamless transition from DJ to DJ that they have now. Just thinking that there would be a few people who would be amazing playing live from the heart of the spider...

I don't know for sure if they've had live acts, but Arcadia has changed over the years, and it did used to have a stage, so if be surprised if they'd never had a live act.

    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!! (i am living in Switzerland so me making this comment says something 🙂)   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The XX 4. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 5. Gorillaz 6. MBV 7. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 8. NewDad 9. Big Thief 10. Annastashia      We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto or Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
