AC/DC Says Lars

I may be wrong, but I though Alberts was just a publishing company.

Who's promoting the tour? They might have more influence over what happens than the actual band management, in the way that Michael Cohl used to have over the Stones.

On the bottom of the poster for Glasgow it says

A DF concerts presentation in arrangement with CAA

DF are just Dance Factory, the local Glasgow bods. A quick sniff round the CAA site suggests it might be a bloke called Rob Light who's calling the shots.

I'm betting he wasn't at the farm last year.

Fair point.

And after asking that question I thought 'you already said there are "some bands it's almost impossible to get info on" - it could be any'

I actually did very well with the Prince stuff last year - to the extent that someo0ne exceedingly well connected was telling me Prince was signed and sealed for Glasto, and I knew he was wrong (it's the only time I've rejected info from that source).

All well and good crowing about last year Neil... Now find out some info about this year!!

(Please and thank you.)

A lady who I work with best friend is one of a handful of people who work for Glastonbury all round and as far as sources go I've only ever got a nod as to when the announcement is coming than any artists playing.

It is like trying to get blood out of a stone though so Neil's effort each year is commendable with regards to info regarding artists playing.

I'd heard that Depeche Mode were lined up to play last year, I was still surprised that didn't come off. And you'd heard something similar, am I right, Neil?

Yeah, tho I'd also heard it was out of the possibilities by the time of the previous Glastonbury, because Gahan didn't want to continue touring that far into the year.

In the news article i published mentioning them, I said something about "we're hearing whispers that it might not now happen".

Another reason why I find it unlikely to be AC/DC is their type of show

At Glasto it would have to be a very stripped down show, which is not their style

The pyramid would just not be able to accommodate an exploding train, a giant bell, cannons, a giant inflatable woman etc, it would just be guitars, amps, drums, and a mic, which would mean the millions on tv would not get to see the REAL AC/DC

An AC/DC stage show with its gimmicks and special effects is the most spectacular music show on the planet

If you're so convinced they wouldn't play Glastonbury, why did you buy a ticket purely to see them?

Covering my bases because at the time they were bookies favourites

I also have a ticket for Glasgow on the Sunday of Glasto, if they do Glasto I will 100% go to Glasto, and sell the Glasgow ticket, am seeing them in London anyways

I don't think they will do Glasto atm but it's good to know I am sorted if they do

I might still do Glasto if they are not, depends on the rest of the line up

If it was Foo Fighters, Muse, Taylor Swift for example I wont

If it was anyone and AC/DC I WILL

If it was say Royal Blood, Prince (or Bowie) and Elton John I will be there

    • Alright fair, I thought she only did BST once. Though I do question how that type of pop show will translate to a stadium.
    • yeah, but I enjoy moaning about them too much so whatever I guess.   and besides... a few years from now there will be absolutely nothing on TV except for Coben based shows so I'd best get used to it...   🙂        (for anyone who has ever read a Coben book - are the books as utterly sh*t as the tv shows???)
    • Those in the Glastonbury ‘Tour’ thread buying tickets noticed it when tickets first went on sale.   And if you look at the blocks still on sale here https://www.axs.com/uk/events/1489025/muse-tickets?skin=theo2 blocks 410-414 definitely stand out as the only seating areas without tickets available, so appears that they still haven’t gone on sale.
