I has map.... Whistler's Green is up top. The bits in the bowl are Barrio Loco, Downtown, Hidden Woods and Chinatown - oh and Arcadia but that's part of Downtown

Veh excited. Didn't sleep easily - had better tonight!

Just read about the 40m slide next to the travelator!

Yay hoping to bump into you guys!

But will yer man be following the boys down it or shaking his head disapprovingly? I couldn't decide but both conjure a funny image

Just gotta pray it's a water not mudslide!

Whatever the weather it'll be a "you've been framed" opportunity!

Can't see Pilton Digger going for it. In fact I suspect his reply would be " I'd rather eat my own.....(finish with your favourite retort "

Is the meet at The Bad Apple happening on Thursday then? I'm working the day shift on one of the bars and I'm not sure what time that will finish yet, but I'd hope to be able to make it by 7.30pm or soon after if anyone's up for it?

Has anyone used the stubhub site before? There's a ticket on there for £30 but there doesn't seem to be any seller feedback or anything.

Fake or not? http://www.stubhub.co.uk/boomtown-festival-tickets/boomtown-festival-alresford-matterley-estate-7-8-2014-4456723/?ticket_id=1104585970&quantity=null

I doubt I'm going now anyway but I'd like to know if it is real.

Soooo envious of you all going. Maybe next year when I have some more annual leave left. A mate of mine is going for the first time so I can be sure I'll hear all about it from a running commentary of texts over the weekend...

You might want to keep an eye on the weather forecasts berfore you commit. Next Saturday is looking mightily scarey. :O

A word of warning from someone who has been at Matterley Bowl during a proper drenching ... do NOT camp in the camping areas in the dip around the bowl - it will turn into a river, a proper, flowing river!

Could you expand on this? Do you mean anywhere on the sides on the bowl? Or in the flatter part at the bottom? Or is there another dip on the top?

Maybe better to just avoid the bowl completely and head for the flats elsewhere on the site?

Thank you!

the bowl is a bowl, but with the land rising in the middle of the bowl - which creates a sort-of valley around the edges of the bowl.

It's that valley you need to be avoiding, as it turns into a proper flowing river in some circumstances (as seen by me at one of the Homelands festivals, where the 'arena' marquees were sited over that 'valley').

I do miss Homelands

One year got chatting to a young student from the local posh school , he gave me some excellent free pills.

The conversation went like this

" I love your accent where are you from ? "

" Yorkshire ! "

"oh The North , how did you get here ? "

"we drove "

" You have a car ? "

Bless em !
