I had £500 on Radiohead to headline instead because of a whisper down the pub!"

I find the quote from John Giddings about 'not being able to one up Glastonbury' quite peculiar now we know all 3 headliners.

All maybe his a big Who fan? Maybe as promoter he can Glastonbury have 3 massive acts, even if one has headlined before (8 years ago mind..)

That Weller was only announced for the festival in Holland on March 16 shows how much of a late rush job this has been by Glastonbury.

Could be that the free festival hadn't sorted everything with Weller and announced before he was fully on board? (I believe it wasn't on his site or anywhere else?)

He has a new album out on 18th May so will be showcasing that I fear rather than spanning his whole career.

I saw Weller last month. didn't play a single Jam or Style council track, Lots off his up and coming album and some lesser known stuff. The set relied heavily on lights reverb and effects pedals, i though i was at a Pink Floyd tribute night. Im a fan of his and my missus is a massive fan but we both left very dissapointed. Don't think i'll be rushing to the Pyrimid to see him.

I dunno. I think over all a lot of people will see the Pyramid headlinders as really strong. And I can see why. Personally though I'll go watch Foo Fighters but will be getting my groove on with George Clinton and some Brothers cider on Saturday night and having a love in with Belle and Sebastian Sunday.

I do feel that the Eavii have been very naughty nabbing two acts away from other places. I'm not excusing them but they really must have been up against it to do something like this. Unless both acts were asked ages ago and flip flopped. Doubt that's the case though. Curious...!

Really grates me when artists play a set largely based on their new material at a festival. Especially an act like Weller who has the hits to make a really great set, with many singalongs.

The vast majority of the crowd have come to watch to see the hits that they know. Simple as that. If Weller plays his new stuff it will undoubtedly be the worst sub in many years - possibly ever!

They have Florence and the Machine subbing. They weren't up against anything.

Can't wait until a few months time when loads of people are wetting themselves begging for Radiohead, Prince and Fleetwood Mac again.

If true, that is a very good point.

i wil NOT get caught up in all the rumours again! after this roller coaster of a year i hope i've learned to not believe anything. it's gonna be Ed Sheeran, Bastille and Mumford & Sons until anybody proves otherwise

I kind of wish they could all just play next year to end the constant speculation and clamour for them. I'm not sure what the demand is in general for them, but on here they're 3 names people are always desperate for. Would be interesting to see who everyone would move onto, if they got them all in one year.

Are there ever any decent subheadliner performances? I honestly can't think of any off the top of my head from recent years.

Nick Cave was good, I guess, but you'd struggle to call it a popular success.

Really liked Faithless before Stevie....
