My gf used to work for Betfair and she said that they had really sophisticated methods and software that could track and discover multiple accounts, even if someone logged onto Betfair with a different pc with same IP address it would be flagged up as a multiple account

Not related to Pete Townsend or even similar but web services and service providers could track any activities you carry out, they are very sophisticated and smart, would be very surprised if someone could access, view or download child porn without their ISP knowing

I think it's a good of a reason as any to treat someone more favourably, but it's nothing to do with the name change

The reason I've changed it is because it seemed rather silly that I'd have myself named after a song that I'm not too keen on anymore. If I go off Super Furry Animals in future, I'll make sure I inform everyone before I change my username
