HELP NEEDED.

What am I going to do with all my free time once the lineup is announced? Every free moment I have seemed to be going through all the pages I missed since last logging on or constant refreshing for new stuff. After the anouncement I may have time to take up a new hobby. Thank god I don't have access to my phone or internet at work!!!

discover new acts via the lineup

really hope that means he's playing, he'd be perfect for The Park some night, like Four Tet last year.

Yeah someone said he'd confirmed to them on the Jamie XX thread. Fingers crossed for the Jamie XX, Jon Hopkins, Caribou run on the Park.

EDIT: quoted wrong post, sorry.

What are the latest opinions on muse and prodigy? Still possible or been ruled out?

Also, there was an interview with ben Howard on zane Lowe show a while back, where he pretty much said he would be playing. Where do you see him fitting into the bill. He was on pyramid last year but I think his sound will get a bit lost on there. Too big now to headline John peel stage?

Muse are definitely out. still a small possibility of The Prodigy although i personally don't see it. Ben Howard will probably sub (or even headline) Other

Ah ok, how have muse been ruled out? Other commitments?

That's exactly where I placed him, headlining the other, John peel was just wishful thinking. If he's on an outside stage it needs to be nighttime.

Muse are playing elsewhere on both Friday and Sunday, could've done Saturday but with Kanye there it's unlikely

yeah they're busy on the Sunday (and also an exclusive to Download i believe). i'd personally place him as a sub but realise he's pretty huge so he could well headline

After his last Pyramid slot I could only see Ben Howard playing higher up the bill this year, but I couldn't see him playing under either of the announced headliners, nor am I sure he's other stage headliner material. I'm expecting him this year and I'll be interested to see where he lands on the bill. I quite like his current record.

    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
    • Feels like Leeds getting axed is just a matter of time now, and to be honest, it might be the only way to save Reading. The whole twin-site format just feels proper dated and way too expensive to run nowadays. If they scrapped Leeds and focused entirely on Reading, turning it into a proper London-adjacent day-trip fest for the younger crowd like All Points East or Wireless, it would actually make sense financially. But yeah, for the old-school rock crowd, the R&L era is completely dead and buried.
    • Its the obvious  place to find savings but will Ed Miliband play along? Will Labour MP's finally accept benefits cuts? This is as damaging for Reeves as for Starmer. Its hard to see how either survives. Meanwhile Burnham is bringing up WASPI when there is no chance they'll get anything. He'll have to say something about funding defence.
    • Yeah, I managed 2 at once last year but the setup meant 1 per purchase, my partner had to do her one separately using her code   14th Primavera, bring it on!
    • I’m heading to this but need to leave on the Sat. Does anyone have any experience of getting back to the train station without the shuttle bus running? Seems like it might be tricky
