I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the line-up always dropped on a Wednesday*.

I'd always assumed it was because Thursday newspapers used to be the largest and the most closely read of the week, so smart PR operations knew to drop news on a Wednesday -- better chance of it getting a decent show and being seen. I'd also assumed that the Wednesday tradition had then continued in the digital era, when newspaper habits became no longer as crucial.

* (caveat: I fully expect to be proven wrong)

random question have they ever announced the lineup so late in a day? pretty sure last couple of years it came out midday/afternoonish....would they do an evening announcement?

hey Penguin, you ok? what with the 1D thing today and all.. there's probably a helpline or something, and we're all here for you big guy.

The most baffling aspect of today for me is how come Matt42 doesn't know what his dinner is.

Doesn't he make it himself when he gets in and chooses whatever he wants for dinner himself?

Or does someone make it for him and decide what it is?

Intriguing...

I think Mummykins42 makes it for him, he can't be trusted to decide what to cook

Just want to say a big 'fuck you' to all..

after losing my password shortly after the festival last year and my uni email account shutting down so I could not retrieve it I retired from these forums, still checking in every day just to see if Mike99 had returned (as well as get the latest rumors) vowing never to post again.

The madness over the last 3 hours has had me so aroused that I had to create a new account, However In the intensity of it all I created an account and sent it to an email address that i'm not even sure it exists (R.I.P Andy0808 v4)

Very glad to be back.

p.s I'm not Roses4Baggie (Although that is something he would say)

Efestivals is now arousing! What a result, I've always said this place should be sexier, I do my bit.

Don't be ridiculous. Jesus is DEFINITELY big enough to headline the Pyramid, it's a joke to suggest otherwise. You're completely mental if you think he'd only be on Other.

    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
    • Feels like Leeds getting axed is just a matter of time now, and to be honest, it might be the only way to save Reading. The whole twin-site format just feels proper dated and way too expensive to run nowadays. If they scrapped Leeds and focused entirely on Reading, turning it into a proper London-adjacent day-trip fest for the younger crowd like All Points East or Wireless, it would actually make sense financially. But yeah, for the old-school rock crowd, the R&L era is completely dead and buried.
    • Its the obvious  place to find savings but will Ed Miliband play along? Will Labour MP's finally accept benefits cuts? This is as damaging for Reeves as for Starmer. Its hard to see how either survives. Meanwhile Burnham is bringing up WASPI when there is no chance they'll get anything. He'll have to say something about funding defence.
    • Yeah, I managed 2 at once last year but the setup meant 1 per purchase, my partner had to do her one separately using her code   14th Primavera, bring it on!
    • I’m heading to this but need to leave on the Sat. Does anyone have any experience of getting back to the train station without the shuttle bus running? Seems like it might be tricky
