Headliners 2015

Well, I for one would be happy with the Roses having a chance to redeem themselves of their poor live reputation on the big stage (or not). It would, if nothing else, be another interesting headliner to get people talking.

maybe it's jus because i'm not that bothered about them, but it'd seem like an incredibly uninteresting headliner to me - on par with Blur. sure they'd have a new album out, but to me it'd still seem like Glastonbury was getting them after all the other fests have had them. only thing it'd really have going for it would be twenty years since they were last supposed to play. other than that, everybody who's wanted to see them has already seen them, and they'll have a crap new album to promote

Yes, maybe it was an interview to be a professional footballer with whispering Bob Harris and a few others in which they discussed The Stone Roses headlining Glastonbury.

He should have just said an ITK mate told him, and left it at that. It would have been far more believable.

Yeah, I appreciate that for many it would be. I mean, they are a hugely influential band because they found their sound at the right point in time for everyone else to follow, rather than any great body of work or reputation for greatness in their career.

I've loved Ian Brown's solo stuff over the years far more than how much I enjoyed their albums, but I'd still like a chance to get to see them as the timing was all wrong for me when they were performing in the past.

yeah i guess for a lot of people (Eavis included) that could be seen as a big deal. now if only they could get Kylie to sub 10 years after she was supposed to headline and they'd be on to something magical

You do realize though that with a new album of material, in the case of both blur and The Stone Roses, Glasto would indeed be getting the act how they tend to at the start of the album.

Similarly to Biffy Clyro for example, done R&L, IOW, T and their own tour but to headline next year for example with a new album is the difference.

In the event that they are announced, you will find no shortage of people willing to talk about it.

It would be roundly welcomed.

Until that time people will probably be a bit reluctant due to the number of chancers who have spun nonsense stories of who is going to play.
