Tough choice! Will probably end up at Pixies as I've never seen them and absolutely love them, but Metallica were great both times I've seen them despite me not being a huge fan. Also heard mixed things about Pixies festival shows, and Metallica at Glastonbury could be something special!

Seen Metallica many, many times, IMHO they are a league above any other band on the bill by some way! However they are used to playing to die hard fans who know every song word for word. Not going to be easy to win over a non-metal crowd but I'm sure they will be up for the challenge. I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about 'Ecstasy of Gold' being blasted out in front the flags of the Pyramid Stage and then hopefully followed by Creeping Death, Master, One, Am I Evil, Blackened, Seek and Destroy, Cyanide, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Sandman etc. etc.

Really hope they are confirmed soon, I think they will, not because of what people are saying, its what they are not! Knowing Metallica I am sure they would have quashed the rumours if they weren't planning to play.

Glastonbury you're in for a legendary perfomance I'm sure!

I get the argument about the split fanbase but looking at potential Saturday night head liners across the major stages would this not just mean SE corner gets packed really early or dance village get over busy?

Again I'm only speaking from my own view point but I can't see what really appeals to younger people. The Chase and Status/Stones split made perfect sense, Pyramid will always be busy but also putting on something completely different for people who aren't interested. Not sure about how the tour dates work out but would this not be the night to put J5 on West Holts or push Disclosure on Other?

(For the record I am a young person, I obviously went to Stones)

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
