I'm not bringing Wellies. They wont fit on my carry on luggage on the flight anyway. That is my contribution to ensuring there is no rain for the duration of the festival :) :) Of course I will have to make sure I keep some spare cash in case there is a downpour and I need to buy some over there. :)

One thing I have noticed is that the weather is never shit on the Monday after the festival. I've never had to pack up my stuff in the rain. Even in 2007 the sun came out on Monday, just to take the piss.

That might change this year, the models are currently showing a breakdown in pressure with a band of heavy rain move if over on Monday afternoon. :)

I think 2003 was the best weather I've experienced at Glastonbury. Preferred it to 2010 simply because it wasn't ridiculously hot - it was just very nice.

2002 was good too, although I have vague memories of it being seriously cold at night that year.

When?? It was fucking shit when I woke up in a breached tent full of water and had to pack up and wait for the coach in the rain.

In 2011 it was hot and oppressive on the Monday morning and I'm fairly sure that by the late afternoon / evening the heavens had opened again a la the Friday night.

2007? I don't recall the sun being out when we packed up at all.

Yes, I definitely remember it getting very sunny - possibly around middayish?

Ah, I think we had left in disgust by then.....

Id ignore all forecasts until the day before it opens.....weather can change and anything longrange or even close range can be just guesswork......best not to stress over guesswork :P

I keep saying ignore it whilst checking this thread and weather forecasts at least once an hour. :D

You must have left a lot earlier than me - it was lovely in the afternoon. Sunday night was bloody awful though. I don't know how long that continued into Monday morning - I had no reason to get up early :)

Yes, I think that's the closest we've come to getting wet while packing up. We left at about midday after it became clear that the weather was going downhill.

Yeah, it's probably the thing that worries me most about the current forecast.

2007? I don't remember the sun shining at all in the 12 hours we were stuck in the sodding car park on the Monday.

I remember packing my tent up in the mud and rain Monday morning then standing in the bus queue for several hours in the cold rain with water almost knee deep down by the bus queues- they even started handing out blankets. I had a cold by the time I got home- a low point!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
