FestiWeather’s forecast has a single millimetre of rain due to fall over the entire Wednesday-Sunday period, with that cooling splash of cloud water arriving on the Saturday. The BBC shows how the build-up to the festival is likely to be dry – important for keeping the ground firm for when punters arrive – and also forecasts nothing more serious than a light rain shower during the festival itself, again due to hit on Saturday during the day.

Metcheck is similarly positive, predicting a small amount of rain (1.5mm) on Thursday but virtually nothing over the rest of the weekend. Temperatures, it predicts, could rise to around 23C over the course of the weekend.

According to Guardians summary of the weather sites anyways.

BOLIEVE!

Since when were the BBC ever accurate?

I've seen several places still predicting average weather, and it's changed ever day this week anyhow.

Changed for the worst. High pressure period is over. Can feel it in the air today, more cloud and wind. We've missed the good weather by a week unfortunately.

Nearly everyone now predicting "a breakdown" from high pressure mid next week. Right from the mid Atlantic across to central/north Europe.

Optimism was fun while it lasted but we're fucked now. Looks like we're getting 2007 part 2.

2007 was not ok. Anywhere

Those pics are from 2007. Lovely sunset there. A lot of the festival was like that.

You'll forgive me if I wait for a forecast a little more concrete, you've been the voice of doom on the weather threads for as long as they've been running.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 24 Jun 2014 to Thursday 3 Jul 2014:

High pressure will continue to bring fine and dry weather to many parts through Tuesday and Wednesday with good spells of sunshine, especially in the south and southwest. It will be cloudier in the north with showery rain over Scotland, particularly the northwest where locally heavy, and this may move southwards across eastern areas later. Feeling warm in the sunshine and perhaps very warm in the south, but somewhat cooler in the north. From Thursday onwards, however, high pressure is likely to decline allowing more changeable conditions with cloud and rain pushing in across western and northwestern parts. However, southeastern parts may hang on to the dry and fine weather until the weekend. Most likely remaining changeable into the following week with occasional rain interspersed with drier spells.

I don't remember 2007 having much sun at all. Friday afternoon maybe?

I remember the sun glaring off the mud at times. But it was so changeable that it was lashing rain 10 minutes later.

Going to be like this next week. We'll be sitting on the grass on Wednesday and then we'll wake up on Thursday morning to welly time.

They'll be sold out of those WWII style ponchos too. No sitting down from Thursday on, mud all over the toilets, pissing rain during the headliners.

Oh look - all the forecasts have changed again LOL

You know it's getting pretty dull having you post this every six hours. Get over it, it's reality - it's your problem not understanding the forecasts, not vice versa

Sounds like Heaven! :) Hopefully the police will be on hand to marshal the selling of wellies as it can get out of control!

In the nicest possible way - shut the f up.

It was a joke as the LOL suggested as indeed all the forecasts had changed.

I am pretty sick of people like you who seem to have no humour.

I'm worried

Don't be, the only indication thus far is a couple of LIGHT showers which isn't enough to crap on the site. Sure the is a chance that the low pressure may come in a lot quicker than expected and the bad weather front nudges it's way south but by the same token the high pressure could hang around longer than is expected and stop the bad weather from going anywhere near Glastonbury. IT'S AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER which wont have any real clarity until next week.

It's all good....I prepared for a nuclear fall out, rain won't affect me.

It's just disappointing after weeks of the hot stuff

A similar change in the forecast also happened in 2010 on the Friday before, and then reverted to high pressure throughout which we will hopefully get confirmed on Sunday...

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
