Weather

If after all this perfect weather we've had for the past week or two, and all the favourable weather forecasts, it ends up being rainy every day, I will be weeping and ending the weather thread with this:

I know what you mean I get uneasier with every day of good weather we have. Would love a bit of rain in the next few days to stop me thinking negatively.

What was last years rating at this stage? I quite liked last years weather, despite the bit of rain :)

I thought last year was similiarly cagey/up and down predictions predictions thoughout with an indication of the thursday rain but otherwise decentish coming around the beginning of the week? Could be remembering incorrectly though.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but J10 said this earlier

"Haven't really gone into that much detail on temps, as given the model uncertainty there is little point, but if GFS is correct today, temps are set to be around 26c next Wednesday in the Glasto area."

Not surprising, as this is what Metcheck is saying and they use GFS.

It was a 5 this time last year, with the same issues of the charts contradicting each other (as I read it, and I am a total weather chart reading novice). So pertty much what todays blog said

Oh I knew this would happen. Friday and Saturday now taken a dip and showing a chance of rain on my app. Fridays risk looking early morning , so can cope there.

Saturday however looks most possibility , and there's even a lightening icon at the very time metallica take the stage... Temperatures respectable and there looks to be sun in mix so not a total downturn

I'm remaining optimistic for now. Rain was forecast for this afternoon up north, instead I was sunbathing and sat outside having tea at half 7 in shorts and t-shirt.

If the sun shines, or it just remains dry...bonus! That said I may be checking every weather forecast I can find and praying to the wonderful weather gods ha!

Jackone (or 10) basicaally doesn't have a clue at this stage (or arguably at any stage). You'd be better off consulting my Auntie Fanny's seaweed (which incidentally is bone dry at the moment).

I was going to make a joke but my internal censor kicked in

Seaweed is often used as a natural weather forecaster. Kelp, for example, shrivels and feels dry in fine weather, but swells and becomes damp if rain is in the air.

I think my sterling work as a sun talisman will continue. I've never been rained on during a headliner at a festival, and I've done Reading 2010-2013 and Glastonbury 2013. NOW BOW DOWN TO ME.

Seriously, though, this is looking roughly the same as last year to me. Which is great :).

Change for the slightly better with me. Friday could well be dry with cloud cover, Saturday morning is now rain risk of up to 0.06inch but then improving. There seems to be a bit of wind too up to 15mph

    • Skylink is 24 hours... But the skylink will drop you off at Pegasus business Park or EMA (East Midlands Airport) where you'll have to use the Download shuttle link, which isn't 24 hours. The last shuttle from the Download transport hub to EMA is 12:15 TrentBarton / Local bus info here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/download2026   Skylink Derby / Leicester / Loughborough timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/skylinkderby  Shuttle timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/userfiles/hotel.pdf If you miss the shuttle, which is very doubtful, you'll just have to find another way to EMA / Pegasus business park, maybe a taxi. You could even walk to EMA from the Download transport hub, wouldn't take too long. Just make sure you use the airport's 'circular path' instead of the dangerous roads.  I walk the circular path often, it's nice and easy. I would post instructions but I very much doubt you'll miss the shuttle, and if you do, it isn't hard to work out. The footpath is clearly signposted from directly opposite / across the road from where the download map has labelled "Pickup and Drop Off Exit."
    • So for Harry Styles it was actually a plastic bag that basically blocks the view of the front and back cameras. You can still use the phone screen. It's much easier than using lockers, especially for people leaving for the last train etc    I think it's basically reliant on the threat of security kicking you out if you start filming.
    • Hey, does anybody have a joining link for the WhatsApp group plz? I know the secret sets get posted there but have a new phone and number
