there's a lot of the same info floating around.

My take today is that they're likely to be the Saturday night Pyramid headliner, as I can't see who else they're going to get now. So I reckon there's some frantic discussions going on with Soni right now.

Metallica will not be headlining the pyramid

You say that, but they need a headliner and they ain't got one yet.

Is it a coup for the festival? Or a Coup for Metallica given how much they've wanted to play :P

Well both to be fair, if they play the other stage then the Festival definitely has the upper hand. Probably the strongest other headliner they've ever had, surely? Still a pretty strong pyramid headliner as well.

"Can't stand Kasabian. They headline a festival in the UK every year. Everyone who wants to see them has done."

"WOO METALLICA!"

:P

Metallica resident festivals that don't appeal to me and they aren't a band I'd buy a ticket specifically to see but as a headliner to a festival I go to appeals to me a lot.

Does this mean the hit machines The Eagles are out of the running now?

FFS, sod the money, if I was in any of these bands I'd be beating a path down to Eavis's door to play. Think of the KUDOS!

only just seen this

YESSSSS

if Neil is right and they're headlining Pyramid, i wonder what's changed / happened, as last we heard Soni's people were fairly confident that it was their only UK appearance (unless they were saying that to keep up appearances / stop word spreading that Metallica would be at Glasto)

But you say that as someone who "gets" the festival. Different for people who are in the bands who just see it as another festival and they can make way more money elsewhere

Absolutely incredible glastonbury booking.

Even with the huge problems they clearly had they've still got the best trio of headliners i've seen at any fest this year.

Arcade Fire - Metallica - Kasabian

so jealous i'm not going.

it looks a little / very Reading and Leeds (headliner wise) but yes, a pretty great set of headliners (well… AF and Metallica. Kasabian can do one, but they'll be popular)
