Just because Catfish and his band of bellends have grafted for a bit doesn't mean their indie landfill nonsense entitles them to play anywhere.

Probs means they will play somewhere though, remember that bugg fella...

edit: read that out of context, get ur point

Fat White Family can get in the bin too, frauds. Best new band in the country (for me) is Wolf Alice. If anyone wants to enlighten me otherwise I'm all ears.

actually scratch my earlier decision, not that new but savages by a mile.

Ughhhh why are they frauds now?

I think Wolf Alice are fine. Nothing particularly interesting going on to make me think "so excited for the new Wolf Alice" or similar and while I can happily listen to their stuff and see them and what-not; if they really were the best new band in the country then that'd be a pretty distressing.

edit: also why are we discussing this here? I bet people are popping in to see about self confirmations. :P

I'm gonna exempt them from the competition I have now created, been around ages now.

If we're taking specifics I saw wolf alice in summer 2013 and according to someone on here catfish have been touring for years.

For me, new band means (usually) 1 album in, or obviously no albums and just EPs/singles etc.

They come across as a massive gimmick. They were a shambles every time I've seen them and on Letterman this week.

Not that we have much else to talk about! Though two/three bands are self confirmed so :)

Aye, Wolf Alice have grafted just as much but no album out, they just don't bang on about it as much as Van (is this even his real name?) McCann.

I saw a bit of that, agreed it wasn't up to much. They covered 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' I think??

They covered that when I saw them at y not a couple of years ago, they played mid afternoon just as the sun was coming out, it was the perfect time slot for them

Edit: balls I didn't notice I was on an old page when looking at that post ignore me

Is Gonzo being silly? I thought he was one of efests' foremost arbiters of great taste, this is a vexing development.

Surely the joke is that Catfish are so generic, Gonzo is substituting in pictures of any old indie landfill band instead? The fact that no one seemed to notice at first just proves Gonzo's point

I like this thread being on topic so you've all inspired me to search for some confirmations.

Nice - there are a few SC's hidden over the last few days as well.

(In response to Winslow's post)

Well yes, but you could do the same with many genres and have the same effect.

I wouldn't know Wolf Alice if they walked into me. I wouldn't recognise Kanye, Hot Chip, Courtney Barnet or many of the other tbc acts. It doesn't prove anything.

Or indeed any of the acts Dentalplan just posted.

Nice work.

Didn't the charlatans say they didn't have anything confirmed either yesterday or Saturday? Bloody liars ;)

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)
