I think the relocation freshened it up a little but I can understand what you're saying. There's only so many times you can be impressed by Lords of Lightning, pyro and acrobats, I guess? That said, I had a great time there this year watching Fatboy Slim. Was a great atmosphere and the sound was loud and clear from where I was standing/dancing

The last time I tried to go to a late night area it was in 2009. It was, in it's own way, a valiant attempt, but possibly always doomed to fail. My heart now tells me it was no great loss. I can't get the feeling that it's like a funfair out of my mind. Glastonbury never was and never should be a fun fair. It has a deeper, richer complexity to it than that.

How about something like, "Does he see a future expansion of managed and pre-erected camping facilities at the festival, outside or even inside the fence"?

I can answer that one. W.V. is going to be considerably bigger this year. You can expect there to be a gradual year on year increase in the number of pre-erected tents at the festival.

Would always be a fan of any measure that reduced the amount of waste tents left behind. But is gradually managing and controlling all camping the only solution to counter the waste that lazy and frankly wasteful people leave behind...? Though the issue has been publicised by the festival, I don't believe its been publicised anywhere near sufficiently to get that message across. It should be in bold across the ticket, fine guide, programme, at the gates, being shouted our by the stewards, posted around site and on the video screens at stages.

That really would be my nightmare - as someone who can take care of themselves I don't want to lose a hundred quid of my spending money cos some selfish mummies boys and girls can't tidy up

I'd rather those people didn't come - enabling it will only make the litter and indifference worse

Hello! Sorry for the delay; I was busy with craft fairs over the weekend. I can't transcribe the whole interview, but a lot of it you'll know already - why he started the festival in the first place, and things like that. He was happy and polite, but I think keen to get it over and done with! Why he only wears shorts, even in winter, was on the list of questions, but the kids chickened out from asking it!

When asked about anything he'd change about the festival, or changes he didn't like, he got quite annoyed and defensive. That's when he defended the move of Arcadia - how seriously they thought about it; the difficulties of getting planning permission for it, and how it's improved the safety of late-night movement of people.

Also, he got defensive when asked if he thought the festival was better in the old days. He said it's much better now as there's so much more to do - you'd never get bored, where-as there was more of a drink and drug problem when there was less to do.

Next year there's going to be a new field called Spike - not announced yet, so there's an exclusive for you!

I asked about bands, but he wasn't giving anything away; just that it's almost all sorted already.

He brought up Worthy View when he was asked how long it takes to clear away the festival and he's obviously very proud of it. I didn't get chance to ask if it's expanding, but I would expect so. He said the scout tents are expected to last 15 years, so that's far more environmentally friendly than all the tents that are left behind each year.

Those are the main points really. When we watch it back, I'll let you know if there's anything I've forgotten.

The children need to grow drop a pair tbh :P (I am joking!, not sure if I would given being face to face with the great leader!)

Thanks for the round up :) (and asking for our questions to!) . I guess his answers makes sense, his not really going to do anything that he thinks is going harm the festival or make it worse is he?

it does look like his idea of what makes the festival great is pretty different from a lot of peoples.

suggesting that people got bored in the old days because there wasnt enough to do?!

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
