I know they have their haters but Bullet For My Valentine really impressed me last night night at Cardiff. After a bit of an unsatisfactory Temper, Temper album they really pulled out all the stops to make a really special show on the last show of tour. Recon they'd make great Saturn (Second Stage?) headliners. With the alternating stage system I think before Metallica they'd work out brilliantly for an hour.

I'm starting to think Machine Head won't be around this summer. Would have thought they would have some dates announced by now. The album is coming out next year but wouldn't be surprised if it was late next year. Plus they seemed to hint they wouldn't do Soni again after last time. Plus I just don't see them as a sub headliner. Even Andy Copping said something about them not being sub headliner at Download and Soni generally seemed to have bands playing a bit lower. Reckon they'll headline second stage at Download 2015.

I wouldn't say that for certain. Hell, everyone thought that about Download for this year but they managed to top it. Okay they're suffering now in comparison but they'll still do well in ticket sales, most likely.

I don't think Sonisphere will top their previous lineup every year, but they can follow up without bombing. Something like Rammstein or Slipknot, Tool or Rush and Muse or Foo Fighters in 2015 would go down well enough.

Yeah I think it'll be Sabbath now. Not doing Reading and Leeds, and you'd expect a UK festival if they're doing the rest of Europe. Soundgarden are supporting them everywhere, so that'd be a good bet to happen here too. SOAD don't seem to be doing anything, so I expect that rumour to be wrong.

Maybe Machine Head headlining second with Placebo subbing instead. Can't remember which days Maiden and Metallica are confirmed for.

Apparently Pearl Jam are announcing stuff this week also.

Could be a coincidence, or Black_Crow could be right again and we'd really have to start grovelling to him when he returns from whatever he's been doing in the jubilation of Sonisphere announcing.

I think Acdc were never seriously on the cards, maiden and metallica were sorted well in advance most likely as both of their booking agents tend to book festivals with sonispheres in mind as its win-win in terms of playing festivals they have a stake in, a 60k festival couldnt afford ac/dc and one of maiden or metallica...or both.

Its why im not expecting sabbath tomorrow 100%,arguably too big and too samey. Reckon we'll get a curveball

    • Same here, when the lineup dropped it looked very strong but this year I’m considering more whether I buy tickets for enjoyment or fomo.   Speaking of that dilemma, I caved and bought a Turnstile Piece Hall ticket so I’ll see you there 😂
