Saw her on Post and Homogenic tours. Subsequent output/shows have been a disjointed mess in comparison.

Really, Wooderson? Can't comment on shows, as I've only seen her once, but output?

I think received wisdom from the majority would have Vespertine as her single finest LP. Certainly she has become less immediately accessible since the Debut/Post/Homogenic era, requiring an acquired taste and some time investment to get it, perhaps. But a mess? Bit 'arsh when placed against the pervasive rubbish that populates much of the musical world these days...

Only holding her to her own high standards Ben! Vespertine doesn't resonate with me like Post/Homogenic. The 96/97 tours were something really special. Icelandic octet in 97 fr'instance. Utterly sublime.

Fair do's. Despite being a fan, never got to see her early on.

Not a Medulla fan, then? I bought it on release, pompously full of my avant garde ability to enjoy something so leftfield and experimental - FFS it was almost entirely a cappella! Didn't really get it despite trying to convince myself I did.

Subsequently? I was right all along! It's not flawless, but it is magnificent! Getting similar feelings about Vulnicura, after the largley ordinary Volta and the I-haven't-even-really-heard-it Biophilia...

I've given all those records a decent listen, bar the new one. Sadly none have stamped their authority over her earlier work for me.

I wept like a kid at the end of the Von Trier movie mind you. Last time I was really moved by her stuff.

I think you'll be "moved" by Vulcinura, though i suppose it depends on which way you want to be moved :)

I am a big fan but sadly only since about 2005 so i lost out on seeing her live on those tours, i still haven't and will be trying everything to get a ticket for the up coming tour when announced, i am just praying she does Glasto this year, there are few artists i would truly say i must see, and she is one. i missed out on Bowie and Zep, and i've seen Radiohead and Stevie W , so she is a deffo must see.

out of few years back then I was at Reading in '89, so perhaps that was it. I'm defo thinking Glasto tho.

Well they were together from 86-92. They only formed in June 86 so I doubt they played that year. They did Reading 89, Glastonbury wasn't on in 91 & they'd disbanded by Glasto 92... so that leaves 87, 88 & 90 as the possibilities.

Edit: there was no Glastonbury in 88 either, so it would have to have been 87 or 90.

I was at Glasto each of those years, so it's possible.

If the memory I have is correct, it includes someone which would put it as 87 or 88 rather than 90.

There was no Glastonbury 88 was there?

Which would make it 87, but the poster on the Glastonbury site for that year doesn't show them. Perhaps a late addition? Or perhaps it was Reading 89 & your mind is frazzled.

I worked from the years you gave.

I was there every year from 86 onwards, so all years are possible. :)

The posters are notoriously bad for having acts missing, so I don't think that proves anything either way. And it's quite possible my mind is frazzled, yep. :)

I have read a transcript of the Radio 1 interview that Bjork did with Zane Lowe( berk) and she said that she'd love to come to the UK though nothing had been decided yet and that dates might be coming up soon, though she wanted to tour Vulcinura in halls that were large enough to take a full orchestra, such as Carnegie Hall in NY. Doesn't sound great for Glasto, though i'll hold onto the fact that she's already doing one festival in NY.
