you need to edit your 'hosts' file, and remove the whole line if there's any line that references seetickets.com

Because how it's done varies across different operating systems (windows, linux, etc), the best bet is for you to google for the best way to do it for your PC.

So. Just for my own well being. If you get into Seeticket "auto refresh" queue, do you sit there or manually refresh and probably end up at square one? Has anyone actually ever got tix via auto refresh?

yeah, probably.

If there's anything in your hosts file which references seetickets.com, remove the whole line from the file.

Don't worry, it's not something that risks screwing up your computer. Just remove the line and re-save the file and it's sorted.

I would guess it would put you at a disadvantage given how much bandwidth tor can take up when it has to reroute you through a thousand different IPs or whatever but I might be completely wrong about that. And anyway don't think you really want to entire your credit card details through Tor...

Are people not under the impression that by using multiple devices and even multiple tabs, you are limiting your chances because you are creating competition for your own bandwidth? Usually when I try to get tickets for something with high demand here in the US, that is the assumption that I operate under, but I am by no means highly educated on tech matters like this.

That's where I have a big problem - apparently, all my so called 'friends' are much too grown up for Glastonbury these days so I'm on my own... Well, me and the hubby - best I can do is turn up on my friends doorstep at sunrise on t-day with a nice present and my laptop while hubby tries from home...

Actually, just thought, if I got access to my office (Uni) instead of my friends house, would that put me in a better position? Aarrgghhh!!!

Ok sorry you've all lost me. I'm not a techno type person I can just cope with sky plus....aim...fire.... Hit red button to record. Ok I've also had a few glasses of wine this evening but can anyone please put into simple terms how best to get ticket??? iPhone??? iPad??? Laptop??? iMac??? What is best??? 3G, wifi or fixed/wired broadband????

All this talk of multiple browsers etc has got me confused and panicking about T Day!!! Nice simple terms for us simple folk please..... Think ill top up my wine now!!

Uni network will give you a slight advantage as its faster than normal networks :-)

for anyone using today's fast connections, the bandwidth required for getting the buy page is too small to be of any concern or relevance.

The thinking behind some of this advice is in my previous posts on this thread:

In summary:

• bandwidth makes no difference, the slowest part of this process is you
• multiple browsers are fine on even the slowest connections
• don't use the Tor network
• try and have multiple PC's with multiple IPs (mobile hotspot is a good shout) using multiple browsers, forget multiple tabs
• Refresh using CTRL +F5
• visit the registration site a few times in the week up to the 6th Oct

Unless seetickets leave a backdoor open (which I think is unlikely) then this is a lottery with about a million or so internet connections vying for a limited number of available slots at anyone time, its all about the timing - if your PC hits when there is a slot open you're in.

The above advice increases your chances slightly - so even if you don't get a ticket you know that there is nothing more that could be done. It was really easy to get tickets in May last year so don't despair.

I'm trying a couple of novel approaches this year, not sure they will work - if they do I'll share.

Just received the Registration Reminder / Ticket Day email from See. Note that it explains that "book[ing] tickets on multiple browser tabs can lead to transaction errors. This is because most web browsers do not create a separate user session per tab - information is shared between all tabs for any given web site. We strongly advise that you use a single browser tab only when booking tickets."

Seems to concur with much of what has been said on here concerning the use of multiple tabs.

Multiple browsers then? Chrome, ie, Firefox etc

Hmmm. My strategy in years gone by was to have multiple tabs open and refreshing until that lovely 'WElcom to the Glastonbury Booking Service' tab header appeared. Not all tabs got through - ever. Mind you, epic fail last year (waiting for new-fangled auto-refresh), so what do I know....!
