How come Hannah Wants is playing both V and Leeds!

There's a storm a brewing...

An apocalypse is ahead...

... Hide your kids, hide your wife.

She doesn't know what a monster she's created. The amount of "band x might play cos Hannah Wants is doing both" posts we're gonna get is gonna be horrendous.

Calvin Harris might sub Mumford because Hannah Wants is doing both and he does the DJing too

The courteeners did say at a gig in Leeds, "would you come see us if we came back to Leeds in August..."

Maybe they asked to play Leeds again and Melvin said " NAH MATE"

Someone minor already broke the R+L/V law in 2012 or 2011 I think. Don't know who though.

Also, didn't the Courteeners say "would you come see us if we played a field near here in summer?" and everyone thought it meant Leeds, then they announced Heaton Park which made sense as Leeds was a gig close to Manchester so it would have been all Mancs anyway.

Saw them in 2011, a bunch of 40+ years old acting 15. More of a panto than a gig, but it was nice hearing the classics.

I remember someone minor broke the rule a few years back, but that wasn't an up and coming 'mainstream' house DJ. Be interesting to see if anyone else crosses over. I HIGHLY DOUBT IT WILL HAPPEM.

I've always wanted to see the V/ RandL contracts, wonder if it does say 'if you play X you must not play Y' and I also wonder how one, rarely, slips through the net.

Isn't that basically all of the pop-punk bands from the 90's and early 00's? Love those bands all the same for it though.

Maybe Melvin hasn't announced Alt -J for Leeds yet because he is trying to make it seem like they exclusive to Latitude, for as long as possible. Afterall, we know how much he likes his exclusives...

Plus, festivals rely on their headliners to attract a lot of ticket sales- so if Leeds announced Alt - J, that's two festivals- potential customers could go to instead of going to Latitude. yes, they're run by the same company/ guy- but they all have to work as a individual businesses. Maybe the reason it hasn't happened before is because AltJ may be seen as a relatively weak headliner in comparison to Foals (I mean weak as in- it may be more of a risk In terms of ticket sales)

I understand I may be clutching at straws, but I literally cannot find any other reason. I am 85% sure it is going to be Alt- J subbing Mumford.

Yup. I always wanted to see Sum41.

I've seen: Blink/ Offspring/ NoFX/ Green Day/ JEW/ NFG/ Yellowcard

That's just off the top of my head, there will be more.

    • Agree. Also there was a lot more crossing over between stages. I know they need to put the cure, the xx and Gorillaz on the main stages but if they could have put your Blood Orange, Big Thief, Baxter Dury on Cupra and Occident with Jade and Pinkpantheress on the main stages, it would have been a massive improvement.
    • 100% THIS! I haven't quite been able to put my finger on it, but I think you've just nailed why I didn't enjoy this year as much as usual. In last years edition, the likes of Slowdive or Big Thief would have had evening slots at Cupra or Occident, instead of being shoved on to the main stages during the day. Apart from the very biggest acts (ie The Cure, the pop headliners), most performances at Mordor just lack that special "wow, I'm so lucky to be here" feeling that I remember from the Jesus Lizard and Anhoni sets that you've mentioned.  Sidenote: I wonder if there's a decent chunk of ticket holders that gravitate towards Mordor simply because it's the biggest stage, without really caring who's playing at that time, thus the increased (and incredibly noticeable) yapping.
    • Some horrible talkers around me as well for that one. Plus the mobile beer taps pressing through almost all the way to the front, which really should be illegal.
    • 1. Kevin Morby - Little Wide Open  2. feeble little horse - bitknot 3. Genesis Owusu - Redstar Wu and the Worldwide Scourge    Decent month though - Kurt Vile and Ed O'Brien would have been top 3 most months
