Just heard Black Keys new song. Have to say i was impressed, deffinatly wouldnt be against them making the step up at R&L

Somthing like - Arcade Fire, Black Keys, Mumford ??

You are talking about fever right? Cause as Yellow said, it's the most dull and boring song!

I was referring to your obsession with standing up at the cinema and lack of knowledge of Germanic deckchair etiquette.

Wow I real love Manic Street Preachers the holy bible is a brilliant album but their recent stuff is not good but if they play the holy bible in full I will see them but that wouldn't work on a big stage as the deckchair crew would not like the song Yes because it has rude lyrics.

I like Franz Ferdinand :) I still remember the outrage on here when they were announced as headliners back in '06, it was of Macklemore scale proportions. By all accounts they pulled it off but I was too busy watching Primal Scream.

Played three songs off it when I saw them the other week, which is very generous on their part as they only usually seem to play one (in a setlist normally comprised of about 22-25 songs)

That can't be right, it's only in the last couple of years that FR have been giving new or unestablished acts high slots.

:D But Franz were massive back in 04-06. Selling out arena tours, number one albums. I always felt they deserved to headline but heat of the moment acts have never been treated fairly on here!

I remember the reaction to My Chemical Romance being announced as third, when this was before they really became big and had only opened the Main Stage the previous year. Also Dirty Pretty Things were given a high slot even though their first album had only just come out before the line-up was announced if I recall.

Still a better and stronger line-up than this year though. :P Doubt you'd see the likes of Belle & Sebastian and Slayer being booked for the Main Stage these days...

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)
