Omar and Cedric from The Mars Volta have made up again and formed a band with Flea and one of the ex TMV drummers called Antemasque. Wonder whether they'll do a tour later this year/next year and possibly play R&L

Also a no on the Antemasque for R+L thing. I imagine RHCP will be touring fairly heavily.

Yeah Kimono Kult weren't my cuppa tea, I think it was a one off project started by Frusciante's wife Nicole. Omar is a very busy man haha, swear he never stops!

Well they've got a song on Itunes which isn't available yet anywhere else but Itunes so I haven't heard it but they've got 2 videos of them in the studio where you hear snippets of songs and it sounds quite good. It's mainly Cedric pissing about in them though haha.

Pretty much haha, really liking it though! Flea has confirmed that he isn't actually a member of the band and that he did the bass as Omar and Cedric are good friends of his. So yep, this is pretty much The Mars Volta under a different name. Looking forward to hearing more songs from them though!

There's nothing implausible about that. Deleting NMH because it doesn't matter what they've booked in any year, it won't happen anyway. KOL and Noel Gallagher are equally as 'mainstream' as Arctics and Jake Bugg

Yeah me neither. Last I looked they hadn't even sold out any of their larger shows (bar the few arenas they've decided to do as well).

Depends, they seemed to be touring non-stop between from about 2007 to 2011 and still managed to put out a couple of records during that time

I'm not sure how I'd feel about The Vaccines headlining. I quite like most of their output but they were fucking dire on the mainstage 2012

I've seen them three times and that mainstage slot was definitely the worst, yeah. They've better on a smaller stage but I'd say that's the same for nearly every band going. If their 3rd album is decent they'll hopefully drop a bit of the Come of Age crap which should make things a bit better.

Come of Age actually has some half-well written songs rather than mindless chorus shoutalongs. They're probably more likely to keep those than What Did You Expect... songs.

I dunno, getting rid of the likes of If You Wanna/Wetsuit/Norgaard is like Arctics getting rid of Dancefloor. The Come of Age stuff has never really got as good a reaction either, from my experience.

Anyway, if they're going to headline then it isn't likely they'll be cutting many songs given how short most of the What Did You Expect... stuff is
