Weren't Muse meant to be doing one this year? One in North America and one in Europe? I know they're doing one in South America now so I don't know if that's changed things.

Stadiums can only hold the amount of people to fill the seats due to licensing/safety stuff I assume. Because there's people on the pitch, some seats have to be left empty. It's the same at every stadium gig.

Those seats are for standing people you idiot. At stadium shows general admittance allows you to either stand on the field or sit in the lowest action of seats on a first come, first served basis. They're hardly ever full. Mind you, I'd say they would be for someone like Coldplay because you'll have loads of older people who can't stand for the whole thing.
