does anyone else think the subs are going to be quite weak given the price cut for day tickets. if you take an estimate of 30000 day tickets across both sites for the whole weekend then thats a million quid hit they are taking there.

For some reason, despite all the evidence and past certainty, I have a feeling that it's not The Libertines. Perhaps it's just hope, in fact, it probably is, but the way they're hyping this final headliner makes me think otherwise. Why hype a band already announced for T instead of a UK festival exclusive like Metallica or M&S? That being said, i've no idea who else it could be. Maybe Blur with Libs as subs? I'm hoping for a surprise.

Not a big fan of Libs, still don't really understand how they're headline quality but I'll refrain from dragging that issue back from the grave.

I think Chilis would be cool. A nice curveball and would compliment the other headliners well.

calvin harris was great live until his 18 months album where his quality and his live shows changed a lot and got a lot worse in my opinion. i dont think we are so closed minded about djs, i personallly am a huge an of several djs like armin van buuren, a-trak, 2manydjs etc. just there are many djs that a) arent right for the festival and are just shit

Imagine Dragons and Jake Bugg had both made the move from the tents in previous years and both drew massive crowds on a sunny afternoon and a balmy dry evening. Both had successful years since their last Reading appearances in 2013 and Imagine Dragons proved to be extremely popular, appealing to metal bands band that were appearing on the Lock Up stage.

On other stages we had a ‘dub-step’ master class from Skrillex, headlining the NME Radio 1 tent on the Friday; Alt-J after winning the Mercury Music Prize headlined the Saturday & P-H-O-E-N-I-X closed the stage on the Sunday. The stage also included memorable performances from Bastille, Vegas legends Imagine Dragons and Jake Bugg, all drawing massive crowds.

Second slot on the mainstage went to bands that had proved their worth elsewhere and were playing their sets thanks to very high merit and recent quality albums.

Day ticket prices make no difference to the quality of subs, day tickets were cheaper in 2013 with System of a Down / Chase & Status / NIN as subs than in 2014 with Vampire Weekend / Bugg / Macklemore..
