mrtourette
Yeah I don't think the apathetic response to them is because they're hard done by when it comes to what day they're on.
JeffLynnesBeard
16th consecutive weekend at Reading and 19th in total. Didn't have massive expectations this year, but ended up really enjoying it. The main stage was the quietest I have ever seen it (although I spent most of weekend towards the back). Fewer idiots around then in previous years. New fenced entrance to bars was ok and I never had to queue for more than a couple of minutes all weekend. Friday Andrew O’ Neill - Great start to the weekend - 9/10 Neck Deep - Enjoyed them - 7.5/10 Drenge - Not as good as in the tent 2 years ago - 8/10 Palma Violets - Enjoyed them - 8/10 Panic At The Disco - Not a fan but enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody - 5/10 All Time Low - Mehh - 5/10 Modern Life Is War - Enjoyed them - 7.5/10 The Bronx - Fun - 8/10 Limp Bizkit - Never a fan of them 15 years ago, but they were probably the most fun band of weekend - 9.5/10 Django Django - Tent was dead but really enhoyed them - 9/10 Saturday Babymetal - entertaining and mental. Great start to day - 8/10 Fidlar - disappointed they didn't play Wake, bake skate, but still really good - 9/10 Marmozets - thought they were great - 9/10 Modestep - not really my scene, but the kids seemed to like them - 5/10 Pierce The Veil - had no expectations but enjoyed them - 8/10 Alexisonfire - seemed a bit flat to me - 7/10 Royal Blood - exactly the same set they've been playing for a year now. Came across as a bit arrogant -7/10 Ash - Great Nostalgic fun - 9.5/10 Metallica - slick and professional. Should have played Sunday night - 9.5/10 Sunday Lonely The Brave - Didn't arrive in time to see Skints. These were perfectly pleasant - 6/10 Against Me! - had no expectations but enjoyed them - 8/10 Gaslight Anthem - A bit of a dull set and crowd asleep - 6/10 The Cribs - enjoyed them - 7.5/10 The Maccabees - They were ok - 7/10 Jamie T - Woke the crowd up. Good fun and everybody singing and dancing - 8/10 Kendrick Lamar - Not really my thing, but he played a good set and kids loved him - 7/10 The Libertines - Sloppy & out of tune but that is what they do and I loved them. Exact opposite of Metallica's polished set, but just as enjoyable - 9.5/10 Refused - Only caught last song, but it was New Noise, so they get a perfect score - 10/
ClemFandango97
How many of you watched Spector? A personal favourite band of mine. Awesome set I thought but I was right at the front with all their die hard fans so that probably made me enjoy them more than I would have otherwise

thewayiam
Heard a BMTH song on the Radio 1 in the car on the way back from footy, how mainstream are they now?!
Andre91
Heard a BMTH song on the Radio 1 in the car on the way back from footy, how mainstream are they now?! Very. And they're about to be extremely rich too, I would say. I so hope they headline Download next year.
thewayiam
Very. And they're about to be extremely rich too, I would say. I so hope they headline Download next year. While I won't discount it, it would amuse me the reaction on here if they didn't get a number 1 album and didn't headline, you might say that's being stupid but enough people on here are going to let me know about it if it does happen. On a side note, I don't think anyone replied but did you see Foals - Mountain At The Gates only entered at number 87 on the chart?. Not even in the top 40! Whole lotta love and of course Stairway to Heaven. 8 No1 albums though and 15 UK top 10s. All when you actually had to sell a few to get in the charts. Yellow_Fellow
Singers don't always chew gum because they're on drugs, there is an actual reason for it but I'll leave you to 'figure it out'If it's the same reason as Grohl he's got a long road to go down before it's actually necessary! Andre91
If it's the same reason as Grohl he's got a long road to go down before it's actually necessary! Doesn't Grohl do it because it lubes his throat or something to do with all the screaming he does at a show?
Bisque
We have a winner - it makes your mouth and throat more lubricated and thus easier to sing. So does drugs.
mrtourette
Doesn't Grohl do it because it lubes his throat or something to do with all the screaming he does at a show? He has said that before, also so he doesn't crave nicotine while on stage, and finally that it's become some kind of superstitious habit. It's mainly the first one. Being an industry insider Yellow probably knows the real reason though.
justanothername
Doesn't Grohl do it because it lubes his throat or something to do with all the screaming he does at a show? I've heard that Jeremy McKinnon from ADTR does it as well for the same reason, but I don't see the need for why Mike from Royal Blood needs to do it
