Is this about football or my 'info'? :P

But yeah you're right. It's depressing. I was at Wembley 6/7 years ago and I've now paid money to watch us draw 0-0 with Northampton. Twice.

To be fair we were also at Wembley 7 years ago :P

Had one division less success than you and are now one division better off. Guess it all evens out in the end!

Any chance of Alt j playing this year?

lots

Does it make it any longer?

their live shows would be so much improved with some longer songs

they still probably wouldn't be very interesting but at least you'd have enough time to get into the songs before they're over

edit having said that they obviously tried to do that on Come of Age and it was terrible and they didn't make the set any better at all so maybe not.

I think they're great live. Inside. They were lost on the main stage at Reading. Excellent when I've seen them inside (I haven't seen them in an arena, mind)

Vaccines live shows are fun because the songs are short and sweet and everybodys grooving to the funky fresh beats

I agree with this. Even if it is taking the piss :P They're fun & everyone there is having fun so it's a good gig.

Their output is nothing groundbreaking & I'd be lying if I said they were amazing musicians and really technically gifted etc. but personally I think they know they limits and play to their strengths quite well.

They had a good crack at some longer songs on Come of Age, and I like the more poppy sound they've had on both Melody Calling and this new one so I reckon it's looking quite promising for the new album.

Nah it was genuine.

Their songs are fun and the people there are usually fun, makes for a good atmosphere.

I'll try and go see them at The Pyramids I should think

Maybe that's why this song is nothing special, maybe it's a deliberate ploy so that they get less popular and are thus able to play tents at festivals again.

Hard to tell on this forum :p I was taking the piss with my original longer comment.

Its a shame they're playing Pyramids as its a shocking venue, but as it's pretty small it'll still be a decent gig.

Freddie's been getting tips off of his brother.

Talking of that. Is anything going on with The Horrors this year? I heard there's gonna be a new Cat's Eyes album but I'm hoping that wasn't true.

I'd be surprised if they did much this year, maybe a few festivals in the summer at most. Don't think the tour sold that well and the album seemed to pretty much bomb which is a shame as I really liked at the time of it's release. Haven't listened to it since then which right enough.

yeah i really loved that album but it seemed to do absolutely nothing for them - thought it'd push them up the lineups but if anything it did the opposite which is a shame

i'd love a new Cats Eyes album. the first one is brilliant

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
