So to break away from the neo-Nazi discussions...

Reading in the Glastonbury section people discussing the possibility of Alt-J subbing or 3rd down on the Pyramid. Surely either of these slots (especially subbing, obviously) would make them a feasible sub for R&L?

The Black Keys

Two Door Cinema Club

The Gaslight Anthem

Royal Blood

The Prodigy

Alt-J

Enter Shikari

Rudimental

Metallica

Frank Turner

Bring Me the Horizon

Rise Against

Actually I think that really needs another headliner either above or co-headlining with The Black Keys, and a few acts across the weekend bumped down.

Actually reading it back it doesn't look that odd/bad.

Would probably switch Royal Blood and Gaslight Anthem around, and just get shot of Rudimental all together as they'd probably play a little higher and that'd just upset folk. But yeah I think that's a good prediction.

Yeah I was 50/50 on which way round to have those, but Gaslight have some big gigs coming up, don't they? Aren't they playing Alexandra Palace? And more material I guess. But fair enough.

Suppose Rudimental could headline NME? Just that they seem to keep playing main stages everywhere.

They always seem to have big gigs though. Bigger than other acts placed similarly anyway. But it could go either way really, I just think they'll want to capitalise on the Royal Blood hype.

Maybe on Rudimental. I'd say that or third I guess.

I'm absolutely convinced Frank turner will sub next year

But he's not a massive act.

Yeah Jake Bugg subbing is a push of a booking, but he actually has a following that can fill a mainstage crowd. Was huge at T, even though people were waiting for AM the crowd was still singing along to his songs.

You were the one who used to moan about it. Nobody else is mentioning it.

Kind of suggests that people wanted to see Jake Bugg also wanted to see AM really

So bigger than NME headliner I take it

About the same level.

EDIT: Just realised that ofc it's the same level, they did Ally Pally before they headlined NME last year :P

    • When it comes to legacy alternative acts I hope they bring the Afghan Whigs. Those newly released songs are incredible and classic Whigs sound
    • We’ve a friend  who has hens and sells eggs for two quid for six. So much tastier than supermarket ones. She has an honesty box outside her house and has now expanded into selling them to hotels and the local butchers shop. Quite a decent wee business
    • Curiously a rumour has turned up that Barcelona are now interested in Rodri. So could make Real Madrid and Man City are suddenly both in need of a central midfielder.    ... Assuming this move to Arsenal for Bruno Guimaraes ends up being processed before those two may need to enter the conversation.
    • I think Thunderbolts probably had one of the more interesting villains for an MCU movie. I was actually a bit creeped out by Void. I'm a massive horror movie fan, and I can't think of another time in the last couple of years where a character legit scared me like he did.    Brand New Day was a good time. A great villain choice as it played into Parker's insecurities. Castle was a strange inclusion but the dynamic between him and Parker was great. Castle must have been delighted to have someone who never seen themselves as superior to him like Murdoch pretty much always did.
    • Certainly the fact Bruce had disasters at West Brom and Blackpool has hurt his chances. Maybe he'll go mentor his son now he's a manager at Rotherham.    Maybe the passive aggressive comment about Howe being "that fella who got Bournemouth relegated" also counts as it's own comment that aged very poorly.
