Lineup 2015

Recommended Posts

Yeah definitely recommend checking ATDI out and also The Mars Volta for that matter. ATDI album wise, Relationship of Command is definitely the best to start off with imo, all their albums are great but still listen to that the most, Vaya a close second.

Well that's it isn't it? YMAS, Enter Shikari, ADTR are all third/fourth main, so around the level of a NME headliner but they're all on main instead.

Yeah because it makes more sense for them to play on the main stage. If they were to return next year they probably wouldn't play main again, like Twin Atlatnic, Don Broco and LTA this year.

There's still a load of 'heavier' acts on the stage so I don't think it's changed much in that regard, it's just the bands are a bit more mainstream (for want of a better word)

Why would they be back next year?

Edit: forgot one of them was Enter Shikari. I still don't think they're being booked in slots with next year's festival in mind.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying that if they were to play next year they'd be booked with this year's slots in mind, which is common practice.

YMAS and ADTR are in the same boat as Shikari really. Besides, the point was about BMTH who are fairly likely to play next year but were on main last time.

Fair enough, I misunderstood. Each of those have played main stage consecutively in recent years though so I think that lends more to the theory of them not booking those on NME anymore than alternating. Edited by dentalplan

I didn't get to see ATDI live unfortunately but saw TMV at Sonisphere when I didn't know anything about them and they were great albeit extremely weird haha, only thing in the recent ATDI live videos is Omar looked like he really couldn't be arsed; he usually gets into it but just didn't at all from the videos I saw. Cedric is mental as usual though!

There's a reason they do all that crazy light shit, it's to distract you from the songs.

I think that was the point he was putting across :P Kasabian were a fun headliner that night, regardless of the lack of musical brilliance. Not a band I'd ever want to see again though. Just not pushed in any way - I'd rather go check out an act I have no idea about than watch them again.

    • Oh im sure - theres loads    but just as an observation from the film, If you have not seen it yet im sure you would love it
    • Reading seems to have sold really well this year from the posts they've made re. tickets. I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon, I think for the vast majority in here (myself included) it just doesn't cater to us. That said, if I was still under the age of 18 I'd be thrilled with the Reading lineup this year (not so much Leeds).
