T In The Park 2014

I know what people are saying about T not being the place for them now but if T improved the lineup and made those changes that made everyone used to go to the festival it was surely Arcade Fire would fit in? A couple of years ago they wouldn't have looked out of place on the lineup...

I was also at that gig, and got pretty much right to the front.

Stunning performance.

If T wants to be considered as a serious festival again it needs to book acts like Arcade Fire as headliners and ditch their trend in manufactured and auto-tune pop acts.

Given the further trend in T regulars staying away and the financial climate I think T will have to diversify again. Almost run a separate festival within the festival for the old timers. They could make a tent themed with acts that would attract the old biffs. :) I'm convinced that the unsold tickets this year could easily have paid for a rock headliner and some decent undercard acts. The ceilidh tent was always rammed whenever I went in there and it has gone although I'm not sure it brought people to the festival on its own, it certainly complimented the overall experience.

I realise that no-one on here believes the pish coming from T but do you think they might alter their position of blaming the recession on poor ticket sales now that Belladrum and Wickerman have sold out ( Wickerman for the first time in it`s history ).

I think T could still make that booking(Arcade Fire), they just need to get there heads screwed back on like they did a couple of years ago. They can keep some of the pop acts, theres a place for it, but the festival as a whole needs to just be diverse!

Completely agree with this and T definitely have a potentially cracking festival for everyone! This year I had a cracking time and the festival is set up well and brilliant for anyone to enjoy. Just add a good lineup into the mix and it'll be back as one of the biggest and best festivals in the UK and Europe.

I've just caught up with the thread. My guess at headliners is Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys and Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake co-headlining like they did at Wireless under their 'Legends Of The Summer' schtick.

The Prodigy, Paramore & Bruno Mars as subs too.

    • But but but Coachella, have a day off mate. It probably does drive them insane like the blood orange round stage you mentioned it stayed up the entire day so if you wanted to see anyone in that tent you had a massive area in the centre where you couldn’t stand. Its not unusual to want to have as much space for people as possible in the field

    • Same as how reform have helped to fill up the prisons and then object to the govt trying to fix things (as long as the farage rioters don't get early release).
    • for some reason I put myself through the torture of another Harlen Coben thing on Netflix, this time "Caught".   at the end of it my only emotion was I hated the main character who was supposed to be the hero.   it was her fault that two people got killed, she walks around like the FBI when she just writes a bunch of crap for an internet blog, she takes no responsibility for her actions and for some bizarre reason nobody around her holds her to account.   at the end we are meant to think she is the hero of her righteous quest - but in reality she should be in prison awaiting trial on numerous charges.   still, in the end I got exactly what I expected from Harlen Coben so I guess I have no right to moan... I'm sat here typing this whilst he is sat in his swimming pool filled with cash...     I've come to think that all these Coben adaptations are in fact all the same program, and AI just pastes different faces on the characters for each "story".   🙂
