It does make a change from the normal Radiohead, Daft Punk, Prince we normally go thought at this time of year though. Personally, I'd probably want to see all 3 of them, but there's a lot of time between now and then.

Depeche mode are the real elephant in the room. Most people think FM are legends so will be happy to have them, most younger poeple wont have a clue though. Elbow are quite pleasant and I could see most people 'understanding' why they're headlining even if they dont want to go and see them. DM on the other hand arent massively popular with young people or older people and imo would get a small crowd. Plus the other two look a lot more acceptable if you have a 'younger' band or someone a lot more popular to people in their 20s.

Nail on the head here, FM aren't to my personal taste but have the status to headline, Elbow whilst I personally don't see them as headliners have always been a favourite with the glasto crowd and I would not begrudge them a shot but DM is one i don't really understand, never really had a massive fan base as far as I'm aware, won't attract the younger crowd, I could possibly be wrong but I don't see a big crowd for them, would a portishead type slot on the other be more suited?

ha, other stages. i'm not stupid enough to give up on Glastonbury because of the headliners (although, despite it definitely selling out regardless of the headliners, i think those three would have a lot of people venturing to other festivals, regardless of the undercard, as the headliners obviously mean a lot more to some than others. i'd be quite happy to not have to see a Pyramid headliner and to be able to be elsewhere)

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
