He does get his sources reliably, there is no doubting this, but he also ignores a lot of other stuff from posts that he prefers not to listen to or acknowledge.

The man generally can't stand me for one, I'll get that in or people that he can't stand actually getting it right about a act.

Do you really think ACDC. Honestly? After everything that's been posted about what they did re: their own stage etc at Download. Can you truly truly think they will ever play Glastonbury.

When it's you, making five differing predictions - actually guesses! Not from any actual knowledge - then why do you think I should take any notice of any one of them? Yes, one of them might well be right, but as you can't identify which one, how do you think I could?

And yes, I'm well aware that people often post on here "I know that XYZ is playing" and they REALLY do know that as a fact for substantive reasons. But the problem with those is that there's also people making similar posts when they don't know jack shit. Again, it's not possible to identify the right from the wrong.

If anyone knows something and they want me to take them seriously about it then they need to email me about it, and engage with me over it - and it's very likely that I'll know for certain whether their information is accurate or not within a short amount of time.

As it happens, I do also take some posts on here seriously - but always for good reason. And the machine-gunning of every possible name that you do is something that I'll never take seriously, and you're a brainless idiot if you think anyone else here will too.

How do you try to top the Rolling Stones ?..................................by trying to get Fleetwood Mac and David Bowie in the same year !

I said on here the other week the only way to come close to topping The Stones was to book two or even three "legendary" headliners in the same year.

That was a while ago and shit loads more people have made multiple predictions loads more than me in ages.

perhaps ... tho I can only think of one person that does similar. And he's not so fucking precious about what he does to think that his often-daily predictions guesses should be taken quite so seriously as you with your guesses.)

So are you trying to say that every person, going by your 1st line that makes a prediction or guess is just wasting their time on your boards cause it's based on fuck all and it's bullshit, unless they've emailed it to you? The fact that sometimes we get it right and it's just a nice thing sometimes doesn't matter?

Just about every person who only posts what they know (not guesses at, which is the *only* thing you do!) on the forums will not have me putting my belief in their post - given that history proves massively more are false than true, why should I?

As I've already said, some of them are sometimes later proven as knowledgeable posts - but there's no way of identifying which those are at the time they're posted.

Guessers will always get things right; that's in the nature of guessing. There's nothing to credit a correct guesser for for being knowledgeable tho; they've merely been lucky with their guess.

If I gave guesses any credibility I'd have a page on the main part of the website called "line-ups rumours and guesses". But I don't.

I'm got no lie to make

Ahhh, not this time eh? Hello gazza.

But that's the thing, we all come on here to talk about what we'd like, what we could see etc but isn't that bit where he says it's just without knowledge the guesses and predictions and mostly just bullshit a bit disrespective to all us that actually keep his site going?

Aside from that being something you do continually, it could just as easily said that it's disrespectful to the others here to post five different "predictions" every day and to then take offence (as you do) when no one takes them serious, and then to take offence when you get laughed at for later trying to claim a correct prediction. If ACDC ever headline Glastonbury, I will happily bake Justiceforcedave's ballbag into a quiche and eat it during the intro to Thunderstruck.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed this but efests has got Depeche Mode,Elbow and Fleetwood Mac down as SR for next year.

Three strong Headliners as apposed to one last year,I would go to see two of them and would be very happy with that choice.

Noone takes them serious? It's all got a bit man-bear-pig.

Grammar nazi anti-americanisms aside I think the problem's clear

People need to start distinguishing between Guesses, Predictions and Rumours.

Guesses and Predictions are pretty close to each other and arrived at by extrapolating from what they already know, i.e. so and so is touring and in the right place/right time - BUT they have no actual evidence only bits that point towards the possibility

Rumours are different and are a factual thing but based on hearsay/unrepeatable evidence. I.e. the band manager told me they could be doing it - you're not going to have it in a signed letter, but there was proof.

It's a BIG ASS difference - it's terrible seeing the number of people taking guesses and rumours as facts - there's a huge number I've seen basing whether to even try for tickets on rumours and guesses!

It is making this all more stressful than it needs to be. Neil posts rumours. ThewayIam posts guesses and predictions. There's no point really in those if you have rumours

And yes, why not three legends one year with subs that could headline other festivals, thus cementing Glastonburys legacy as the greatest festival in the world and the only one that can draw that calibre of acts in one year.

If any of FM,Elbow and DM give way for Bowie it'd be DM. Mick Fleetwood has already said even though they had to turn down this year they asked to play next year, so if both parties are up for it I cant see them dropping FM. DM are def the wildcard out of the three.

It's not being previous as much, it's actually guessing something right and if someone acknowledges it and you respond to it, you make out he didn't know, he guessed, which I already know. It's merely thanks, I don't want a medal for it but I don't wish to be slated either.

Just about every person who only posts what they know (not guesses at, which is the *only* thing you do!) on the forums will not have me putting my belief in their post - given that history proves massively more are false than true, why should I?

But why would i post what I know? It's a forum - guessing a predicting is what we do! All of us pretty much do, we come on for fun, we don't have a phone number for FR, so it's not what just I do, it's what everyone does. Why does that make me bad?

As I've already said, some of them are sometimes later proven as knowledgeable posts - but there's no way of identifying which those are at the time they're posted.

I'm not asking for credibility, I'm asking for everytime I make make a single thing and keep to it, like for eg, that IOW post that it just doesn't get tarred they were one of many when that name was never changed. It's not a huge thing that I guessed it right, but it's a tad annoying when it's been tried to make out I think I knew when I haven't. I might have a very big thought of it but I don't actually know. I would have been surprised mind if that one didn't actually happen.

Ahhh, not this time eh? Hello gazza.

Conversely, I think one year Eavis should book 3 relatively small headliners, take the focus off the headliners and let the festival stand on its own merit, show that Glastonbury can book whoever the fuck they want and still be the daddy.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
