DAN! DAN! DAN!

In the last couple of festivals i have noticed the habit people have of shouting out random names in busy crowds, such as 'Dan!'.

I find this absolutely hilarious, me and my mates never fail to crack up whenever we hear someone doing it.

Original little things like this are the reason i love Glastonbury.

Anyway, i was thinking of starting my own one this year, so if you hear some nutters shouting out 'Grant!', 'Grant!', that will be me and my mates :sarcastic: , feel free to also use it during the festival.

I believe it to be funny too. I just can't believe the zaniness of it. It gets me every time. For all those out there who shout Dan or some other name, wouldn't it be easier and quicker if you all just started w*nking each other off the minute you get through the gates? That way the rest of us could experience you when you were 'spent'. It's win, win, really for both parties. You get to w*nk into something which isn't a sock, and we get to hear music and experience silence as we see fit.

In recent years it became "Alan!" after the walk on the wild side clip on BBC One, which was presumably inspired by this partridge clip.

As an "Alan!" i found this incredibly frustrating when trying to find friends, where they'd spot me and shout "Alan!" to try and get my attention. Cue 1000's in front of the pyramid stage finding this hilarious and deciding to join in, making it damn near impossible to find my friends all weekend.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
