Setlist-based Spotify playlist

Cheers @Quark and @chappers8, I'm slotting it in among other things.

2/3 of the poster now present and correct on the Glastonbury 2017 Spotify playlist, down to the Lemon Twigs.

Surprise of the list so far for me has been Sampha, a talented soulful young man with a piano. I doubt I'll be there but he's good if you like that sort of thing.

Cheers @Twisted Melon and @Chazwozza.

The Glastonbury 2017 Spotify playlist now opens with the full poster lineup in all its glory (save that there's no Annie Mac or Sasha & Digweed - there are songs on there by the latter but they aren't what they play). There's a lot of great stuff on there, and a lot of rubbish - dive in and take your own view as to what's what.

Hah - with only 2 songs, and only acts on the poster - it's still 9 hours of material!.  BSR's is definitely the real thing, but this is useful for as an hor d'oeuvres

Couldn't that just be people being hopeful, rather than indication that Bear's Den verbally announced it?

Pretty unlikely that's just people's hopes. The first guy wrote it in quotation marks. And would be a massive coincidence to have another tweet from an unrelated person suggesting exactly the same thing the same night.

A fiver to Wateraid says they're playing!

Ah I see, I didn't notice the quotation marks, and didn't realise they were two unrelated tweets. :) Good chance then :)

I've kept the Glastonbury 2017 playlist up to date since the poster, so:

  • added Emily Eavis confirmations Blossoms and Julia Jacklin (immediately after the poster acts)
  • added self-confirmations Yorkston/Thorne/Khan, Kathryn Williams, Tall Heights, Forest Swords, Kojo Funds, Carter Sampson, Land of the Giants, Laura White, Adam Scott Glasspool, Echo Town, and Geordie Little
  • added SR Bloody Beetroots
  • removed Lady Gaga and, for the time being at least, Sylvan Esso (who were always a slightly dubious inclusion based on a comment at a gig, I don't think they ever made SR)
  • updated Can, Barry Gibb tracks

    • Muse will be about but the issue with Muse is that they’ll have the pick of doing IOW, BST, Glasto, R&L or big parks/stadiums.

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)
