The general trick seems to be to avoid any negative forecasts and just focus on the positive looking ones, thats why i put my faith in jackone as it stands

I've cracked, I've started reading this thread. Working in aviation and looking at weather forecasts incessantly I know very well how inexact forecasts can be even 24 hours out.

However, at this stage it's perfectly legitimate to accept all the good weather forecasts as accurate and dismiss all the bad weather forecasts as it's too far away.

At Leeds festival last year there was a hurricane warning, which we had no idea about until we heard people discussing the contingency plan on the radios. All in ear shot got a bit worried and went to tighten their guy lines.

Turned out to be a bit blustery and rainy.
