Maybe we should start a support group:

I too have seen Chic 3 times, they're great, I want to see them again. Daughter wants to see (rather than CHIC after totally not getting them at WOMAD).... Arctic Monkeys .....urgh, bloody sulky UK art student music....

Chic are perfectly placed for Friday night, an amazing party atmosphere on the first proper night when everyone has energy to dance dance dance (yowsah, yowsah, yowsah). Move Portishead to the Sunday.

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan i had better get tickets in the resale, only just checked the lineup today (as i didnt get tickets in the first sale) and DAMN...i cannot miss Chic at Glasto. Best stage, best night of the festival and one of the seminal producers of our time!

I love Portishead dont get me wrong, i was 13 when dummy came out and i used to play that album constantly...but Chic will be pure vibes...no contest

i'm fully bopping along to that gig somebody posted up at the mo...EPIC

Also getting into Chic has also made me get into other Disco bands, for those of you that haven't check out Dimitri From Paris on Spotify, his underground Disco compilations are pukka, I highly recommend the Cocktail Disco compilation and the Get Down With The Philly Sound one too, it can get a bit repetitive at times, but by golly the grooves are just solid. Listen to Starflight by The Band That Fell From Earth, 17 minutes, 3 breakdowns, it doesn't get much better than that in terms of production and musicianship.

Announced today for Love Saves Sunday at the end of May. Extremely tempted, even if it's just to avoid any potential clashes when Glastonbury rolls around.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
