SOAD
It's an odd move, don't remember other bands doing the same thing. it must have been created as a double album for artistic reasons so I would assume it's a ploy by the record compnay to maximise sales. the wonderwhy
As far as I can tell its only a couple of quid cheaper so I don't know why anyone would buy it tbh.
kev1664
Just gone through them all and It's The Fog, not sure why but it reminds me of of those types of films soundtracks.
K126
I cannot believe how low down they are on the Coachella list.... Obviously haven't made it out there at all.... Some people are going to get a nice surprise if they catch them by accident early in the day! Big enough to headline and sub major festivals out here.... About 30th down the list in Coachella! Gucci Piggy
Got the album today, absolutely love it! Came home from college, sat and listened through it all with the lyric booket, no distractions, it was brilliant! (I did find a mistake in the lyric booklet, however, and that's when I realised how sad I had become )

LondonTom
Got my boxset today It's a fantastic album! Only had time for one proper listen ...but I'd say it lives up to the hype Favourite track so far were Biblical and Spanish Radio and a Girl and His Cat is pretty interesting! kev1664
Was in asda this morning. Biffys album number one, but they only had the single album version, i'd be disappointed if I was a casual fan, bought it there, then found out there was six extra songs on the proper version. danny12345
On the subject of the shortened version of the album I'm hoping people won't buy it and make sure to get the full album... the album is a great double album it doesn't need shortening... I would say every song is essential for the whole experience.
kev1664
Had mine on pre-order from Amazon for a while, didn't even realise a single disc version existed... until they sent me one!
Gravyshambles
couldn't find the double in my tesco, had to get it from the record store next to work. Price wasn't too bad considering. Only £
ghostsIV
Definitely think it's the right time for them to headline! Been there or there abouts for a while, think Sonisphere bumped them up to early which was a shame!
danny12345
What you doing with it? Keeping it? Sending it back? I wouldn't have been happy getting that.

ghostsIV
Not really, Sonisphere was just a smaller festival. Day tickets sold out for Biffy, plus they absolutely smashed it. By far the best headliner that year
DaveElNino
I've barely stopped listening to the new album since I got it. They were the first band I ever saw at the festival, main stage in 2003 and there's a nice symmetry for them to headline on my 10th anniversary. That and some of the songs do sound like they were made to be played on a massive stage in a field in the dark. Although I disagree with the overall opinion, the drownedinsound review which said that it's an album full of singles definitely rings true. The Placid Casual
I am Nah its brilliant they got it, maybe NME and that will stop with the rock is dead thing now to! Edited February 4, 2013 by WessexBoy
Bisque
On Wikipedia right now... On Sunday 3rd of February 2013, Opposites topped the UK Albums Charts because it is afuckingmazing. This is the first time Biffy Clyro have had a number one despite being the best band in the history of music. Simon King Neil said "I'd just like to thank all the heroes on twitter that watched all those many hours of #BiffyCam, I'm glad it was all worth while because we fucking rock man"
SOAD
Chuffed that they finally got a number one... sold a very decent amount of copies as well... wouldn't be too surprised if it went platinum by the time of the arena tour. LondonTom
Why would NME go along with rock is dead? It would kill their business!
dart
Gotta admit, wasn't much of a fan of Biffy pre-opposites, but got it and been listening to it a lot and it's really good. The heavier songs on it are top, and got me to listen to some of the heavier ones off Puzzle and Only Revolutions a la That Golden Rule, Boom Blast and Ruin etc. Warmed to the idea of them headlining now, and bar a surprisingly good NME headliner like Suede, I'll definitely go see them.
