i used to love them, but theyve gotten progressively worse and worse through their career in my opinion. i cannot stand angles, and this new tune is just...

i havent bothered to see them live yet, and dont know if i will bother with the general view that they seem uninterested in their live performances.

Saw them a few years ago at v (05?) and thought they were excellent. I saw them at leeds a couple of years ago and although not as good as the first time were excellent again.

Actually really enjoyed the new album. As others have said its definitely a new direction, but they've pulled it off IMO & still retained a classic Strokes vibe in most of the tracks, which is good.

Tails off a bit towards the end which is a shame

I think the first four songs are pure genius, especially Tap Out and Welcome To Japan. Still undecided on the rest of the album.

I wonder if the way Julian sings on songs like Tap Out is the kind of singing that just sounds weird or falls flat on a festival stage.

Said recently that they won't be touring Comedown Machine at all, so you can rule them out. Too big to headline Other Stage anyway, and too many egos in the band to accept anything other than a full headlining slot.
