Bowie, who has not performed in public for years, decides to make a suprise cameo with the Stones at Glastonbury (i feel daft just typing this, but never mind).

do you REALLY think that they would do 'dancing in the street'?

With The Stones you get to remember the good old days by squinting real hard and pretending you are hearing them at their best.

With Bowie, I suspect, people hope for the same thing but without having to imagine too much.

This all has to be one big ploy to keep the fans at the Pyramid stage if the Stones play. I mean, watching them for 20 minutes and leaving early before finding out they premiered 'Dancing in the Street' with Bowie?! I'd be distraught.

Nobody thought Bowie was possible, now there's a minute chance he could play, but more than a few days ago. I for one would rather Bowie than the stones, personal preference, plus I think he understands the festival better.

there is not even a minute chance Bowie will play and nothing has been said or done by anyone to give the impression that there is...it's all just wishful thinking

This was on Classic Rock an interview with Earl Slick -

Slick admits some of his plans for 2013 are on hold in case Bowie decides to tour. “Obviously, we want him to,” he says. “But right now that’s a big ‘if’. Sometimes he shows up and sometimes he doesn’t. I could get a phone call tomorrow saying, ‘Hey, you know what? Here’s the setlist.’

“Obviously the band would love to go out. Even if it’s not a huge tour, we would like to go out and do some gigs. But that’s yet to be seen.”

I'm as skeptical as everyone else about Bowie touring but something about this gives me the impression that it has been discussed about rather than a straight out no he doesn't want to tour at all.
