Slightly off topic but is there any word of Daft Punk touring next summer? Getting kinda frustrated, it's just rumour after rumour with them. Anyone remember the whole Shanghai fake ticket story and Daft Punk themselves saying they were looking forward to visiting China in their '2010/2011 world tour '...here we are at the end of 2012 with no word

Word I'm hearing on the DP front is they are putting the finishing touches on a new live set up. I doubt they will tour next year but if they do they'll play Coachella so if they're not announced for that then I doubt they'll be playing anywhere next year.

I've gotta wonder where this "Word I'm hearing on the DP front" is coming from.

It's unlikely that some random punter is more in the know about what they're up to than their own people - and their own people are saying they're up to nothing at all. There's no album in the pipeline and there's no tourdates in the pipeline.

I will be very surprised if there is no Daft Punk action next year. We shall wait and see.

The official word right now is that there will be no Daft Punk action next year, but that's one of those things where tomorrow there might be a 365 day tour for next year suddenly planned - so I'm definitely not taking what I've repeated as set for all time; It is how things stand right now tho.

All the same, from what I've heard, it does sound unlikely that they'll be doing anything next year.

A band that hardly ever plays, that I can count has played maybe 10 uk since 1998 and only a handful in the last couple. They play all over europe though.

I'd be there. I wouldn't miss it. But I doubt this would happen.

Maybe they know something you don't. Maybe they have something in the bag that will sell tickets no matter what or maybe they know what the T line up is and aren't that fazed by it. Who knows?

I reckon Bloc Party will be at Rockness this year. They have been announced for IOW the week before but not for T, think Rockness have pulled a good act out the bag if they have.
