DTichborne
I wish they'd put the short slot on the main stage rather than in the tent, for obvious space reasons. That tent is pretty big, but also with their set (presumably) being at the beginning of the day, this means that everyone will be congregating outside the entrance at the same time too. Which is rather more problematic.
Spud001
Probably will tbh, I can't decide if a band the size of Green Day agreeing to do an early and short set on the second stage is the kind of band who would just be there for promotion purposes for an album that only has two singles so far. Are there set-lists floating around from the secret shows they have done in Japan and America floating around anywhere?
evilduck
Their new songs aren't totally offensive to my ears, so I'll be watching them and hoping for a decent song or two.
YumYum
I asked my girlfriend if she wanted to go reading instead of Leeds this year because they was going cheaper on eBay, she said she'd rather go to Leeds. So not only do I miss out on an extra 30 minutes of FF but I'll miss Green Day, and its cost more!

eFestivals
What a fucking joke that Green Day are at Reading but not Leeds. Everyone pays the same. Green Day are a £50 plus band easily. Id like to see how they are going to compensate us. If not I just won't be returning. Simple as that. erm ... why do you think you need compensating for something which was never offered as a part of the ticket?
nowyouregideon
I'd love to hear Letterbomb, next to no chance of it getting a play though.
Vieuphoria
ha Leeds bitching that we get one more band than them when they actually have a shit tonne more. Fuck off.

eFestivals
So what happened to them never playing again? As I'd always said something along the lines of "so I've heard, they don't want to ever play Reading again, and i guess that'll hold true until desperation sets in" then, I guess, desperation has set in. ar1
I'd be quite happy if Leeds had Paramore and FloMach and Reading didn't
moshing
You guys had Guns and Roses a few years ago Ok, they are shit, but still, stop moaning about a 30 minute secret slot band! Edited August 21, 2012 by moshing
lightning1000
I'm really not bothered that green day are playing reading and not Leeds. Even though I'm a big fan I wouldn't be going to see them anyway. That tent is going to be horrendous, its already all over Twitter that they're playing. Wasn't Dave grohl meant to play reading only a few years ago and it ended up getting pulled when everyone found out due to crowd safety. Wouldnt surprise me if it happens with gd too. lightning1000
Just seen Neil's put it on the front page of this site. Well that's just probably killed any chance you've got of seeing them, unless the close off the area surrounding the tent maybe...
the wonderwhy
I honestly don't care about Green Day This just means more chance of getting to the front for Los Campesinos! Good result.
eFestivals
Haha fair enough. So do you think there's a chance of them headlining next year off of the back of this, or do you think it'll just be a one off? From what I heard previously, I'd say it will depend if they feel they've been treated like shit or not.

mrtourette
Green Day's last perfomance was 2004 right? Could it be that they didn't feel they got enough thanks for stepping up and coming on early after 50 Cent got bottled off? Or that they felt they were put under too much pressure to do it?
