Cooool, my dad wants me to come see them with him and I know very little about them other than lots of bands I like cite them as an influence. Their albums all seem weirdly expensive everywhere, like £12+, so gonna go for two to start me off :)

No R or even L for me this year I've decided. Been offered work & have my RN fitness test coming up.

I'm going to miss it, avoid it on TV, although there's naff all I want to see other than Enter Shikari & Netsky.

Got a Bestival ticket though :-)

I wonder what percentage of your posts in the R&L section contain the words 'Bestival' or 'Glastonbury'.

I saw Slaves at BST Hyde Park and they had one of the funniest sets and the crowd interaction was great. Yeah go and see them (or Drenge) over Darlia

Nah, Darlia are great crack live.

Actually, if you haven't seen them before, R&L may not be the best starting point as they're debuting two new songs there so there may be gaps in the excellent crowd vibe there normally is because no one's going to know those songs...

I can assure everyone that Slaves will undoubtedly be the best choice. Seen them six times and they have never been short of fantastic, seen Darlia once and it was enough for me to never want to see them again.

but I thought we've already established that you caught them on an off evening rawr!

Not sure if this has been asked but can you buy tickets at the gate or does it have to be pre-ordered?

Well you can't at Reading, even if it wasn't sold out you'd have to go to the Hexagon in town to buy/pick up tickets. Sorry but I have no idea about Leeds!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
